The goal of our "Song Challenges" is to write songs/lyrics on demand within set parameters. We don't critique each other's songs in this thread (but you can say you like someone's song if you want to.) Please post your original works. If you have already written a song/lyric that fits within the parameters, please feel free to post it.
Here is the inspiration. I was looking out my window and a young teenage couple passed by on the sidewalk and stopped for a second and kissed, then continued on their way. And then I thought, " Yeah that's how it all starts. "
So the concept is this: Someone older (hopefully wiser) sees the young teenage couple kiss and reflects back on his or her own experience. Key to the concept is the kiss starting it all. The song could have any approach you want: sweet and heartwarming, amusing, regretful, a caveat, etc. You decide.
Good luck and have fun.

I Reminisce (c) 2009 Geneva Keith
Verse 1 Walking to the window of the office door, Saw the cutest twosome as the sun went down, Flipped the sign while flipping back the years, A heart mirror reflection made it start to pound.
Chorus I watch Billy Ray and Bobby Joe's friendship grow, For a year they've been holding hands, Been a twinkle in their eyes under periwinkle skies, And wispy warm touches like sifting sand.
Billy held her close today and wet his lips, Bobby leaned into him, As she closed her eyes for that first kiss, I reminisce....I think of us when I see them.
Verse 2 Thought Billy's daddy was the love of my life, Thirty years ago in our high school days, Bobby Joe's momma was my best friend, Billy's daddy stayed and I moved away.
Verse 3 We kept in touch but we grew apart, Two young hearts love grows that way, He married Bobby's momma the year before, I finished college and came back to stay.
Bridge I will always wonder would that first kiss infatuation.. Have blossomed into true love if I'd never left from that bus station....

Just thought I'd play with this again. I don't want to see the challenges go away because nobody is posting.
The most difficult thing for me is finding and choosing a subject that I think is interesting enough to write about, and this does that for me.( Except for my structure struggle).
He Kissed Me Like Young Lovers Do
(c) 2009 Geneva Keith
Verse 1 Walking along the orchard with my daughter, She spotted a young couple off the beaten path, Kissing in the grass, clinging to each other, She asked "do you and daddy kiss like that".
Chorus (I said..) There was a starry night, beneith the harvest moon, After the crops were in, there was just us two, We kicked back in the hay, times ended way.. too.. soon, First few times he kissed me like young lovers do.
Verse 2 (She said..) "There's a boy at school I like to talk to", "We walk and talk alot and we hold hands", "I know he likes me could you tell, daddy liked you", "I think I want to give this boy a chance.
Chorus (changed) (I said "Don't get it a hurry, soon enough..) You'll get your starry night, beneith the harvest moon, After the crops are in, and there is just you two, To kicked back in the hay, times will end way.. too.. soon, Special first few kisses like young lovers do.
Bridge Told her how when love grows older, it grows stronger, Responsibility may make us wait a little longer, (meanwhile) Passion's growing faster than the fruits of these trees, You will grow up soon enough, and you'll know what I mean..
Chorus You'll get your starry night, beneith the harvest moon, After the crops are in, and there is just you two, To kicked back in the hay, times will end way.. too.. soon, Special first few kisses like young lovers do.
