The Songwriters Workshop will host its next monthly session on Saturday, October 11, 2008. Our topic: "Songs & Human Evolution." We will summarize author Daniel Levitin's theory of the six types of songs and what it means for songwriters today. Discussion will be followed, as usual, by songs and critiques.
Experienced and beginning songwriters are invited to listen to each other’s songs and share their comments about lyrics, music, structure, and other aspects of the craft and business of songwriting. Songs may be played live or presented on CD. Participants should bring 10 copies of their lyrics for feedback notes. Please try to park somewhere other than in the bookstore parking lot.
The workshop will go from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Tsunami Books, 2585 Willamette. Call Rocky Montenegro for details at 345-1956.

Dang. And I have a gig that day--last gasp of Concert Season. And it's over on the Coast (Neskowin)--I'd never make it in time. You guys get together just once a month?
