NewtonFest Springtime Blues Jam Friday and Saturday, April 28 and 29, 2006 Historic Downtown Newton Newton, North Carolina Hometown Carnivále, Fine Artists, Sponsor Fair, FoodFest, The Garden: 10:00 am - 11:30 pm; Blues Jam Music Crawl: 7:00 pm - 11:30 pm Admission: Free (this will be a ticketed event after 2006) Featuring: Randy McAllister, Watermelon Slim and the Workers, Mac Arnold and Plate Full O' Blues, Elliott and the Untouchables, Sarah Ayers Band, Barbara Martin and Mac Walters, king Bees, Tampa Blue and more. The annual NewtonFest Springtime Blues Jam is a blues music crawl event that is located in the piedmont area of North Carolina. Top blues musicians and groups play at various venues throughout historic Downtown Newton. Each stop along the crawl provides a unique atmosphere and a different style of the blues. NewtonFest features a diverse selection of legends and locals from across the eastern United States. It would be hard to find this mix of great musicians anywhere else, all for free admission. The concerts are accented by the Hometown Carnivále for the kids and young at heart, Foodfest cooking up a variety of fair food and munchies, fine artists displaying their works for sale, The Garden at the DNDA Stage (a premium beer and wine garden whose proceeds support the Downtown Newton Development Association Inc., the non-profit organization that produces the event) and a sponsor fair showcasing the NewtonFest Platinum Sponsors. If you love the blues and hometown hospitality, NewtonFest is your destination for a great time! Get the details: http://www.downtownnewton.com/newtonfest.htm or contact the DNDA office at 828.466.8833

"If someone is truly a jerk, or truly is not deserving of any positive reply from you, polite indifference is the best response you can give. Do not insult. Do not slam. Do not follow the urge to be nasty. Simply be politely indifferent." –Brian Austin Whitney
