KISS KISS by Andrea Louise
The atmosphere is perfect there's free drink and food and everyone is doing what we're here to do Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss It's wonderful to see you! Did you cut your hair? You say your label dropped you? Who's that over there? Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss I feel bad about it, darlin' - honestly; it's such a dreadful shame But better you than me Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss
I think it's unprofessional to call me rude I've simply got a winning player's attitude Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss Your status is advanced upon the friends you choose the trick is knowing who to shmooze and who to lose Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss You wanna play the game, you gotta know the rules: You play the game to win or else you're just a fool Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss
Unlike so many people in this industry, you always know exactly where you stand with me. The mark of a true artist is to be sincere you manufacture that, you're on your way, my dear Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss
It's been a real pleasure to have met you here you're thoroughly delightful and the reason's clear Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss You know just how to listen so responsively too bad the only topic of our chat was me Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss I long to hear your thoughts and your philosophy C'mon and tell me 'bout yourself: What do you think of me? Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss
They tell me I should be concerned about a fall My answer is that it concerns me not at all I'll always be on top because I live by this: I know which cheek to turn and I know whose to kiss Like this Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss - Kiss Kiss

The Highway's Heart by Vic Moraga, ASCAP (c) 2004
Been catching air for a change Maybe I'll see Montreal I hear the train to Canada's So very quiet Bending 'round snow Through northern fog
Simple reasons find me staying But a fever gets my soul Craving for The Highway's Heart The Highway's Heart, The Highway's Heart Compassion thrives on the road Compassion thrives on the road
My friends have been settling Down this coastline They're calling it their own I've tried to anchor down myself But this fever won't let me go
And I ain't never been to Mexico I hear her winter arms are warm There's an unfulfilled spirit And it's in my life I leave it behind On the road
Simple reasons find me staying But a fever gets my soul Craving for The Highway's Heart, The Highway's Heart Compassion thrives on the road Compassion thrives on the road
And I ain't never been to Mexico I hear her winter arms are warm There's an unfulfilled spirit And it's in my life I leave it behind on the road On the road

93 MAIDENS Rachael Sage © 2005
I am a maiden, one of ninety-three but I won't die the least bit mysteriously I go to school in the town of Warsaw today they came for us all
I am a girl but they are not men I am a woman but don't know it yet I have a brother, but don't know his name he was born in the barracks in shame
mama where are you, where have you gone I need you with me to drink the poison for I'm nobody's martyr, only your daughter I'll meet you when I reach heaven
one of them spoke with a terrible voice, he said: "make yourselves beautiful, you have no choice! we'll come for your refinery soon - by tomorrow we'll blacken the moon..."
mama where are you, where have you gone I need you with me to drink the poison for I'm nobody's martyr, only your daughter I'll meet you when I reach heaven
blessed art though oh Lord our G-d King of the universe...there I must stop - what is the blessing for taking our lives so that we won't become our enemies wives
mama where are you, where have you gone I need you with me to drink the poison for I'm nobody's martyr, only your daughter I'll meet you when I reach heaven ...I'll meet you when I reach heaven

Heaven Help the Wandering Soul Richard E. Abath © 2005 Gbird Music
(V1) I was sitting in a coffee shop in Springfield I was going over the past ten years Thinking I’d seen more of life than I ever wanted When I heard a voice whispering in my ear
(Chorus) Heaven help the wandering soul Rootless and living life out on parole Without any kind of home to go back to Without any kind of comfort than the road Heaven help the wandering soul
(V2) Well I grew up restless and I yearned to travel And the years they rolled on past me like highway miles Now I’m broke down in the desert and hitchhiking And there’s nothing I wouldn’t give for a friendly smile
(V3) But don’t the moonlight look so pretty on the mesa But don’t the mesa look just like a prison yard And I swear I can hear the voices calling Of everyone I’ve left behind so far
(chorus)
(V4) Well I’m sitting in a hotel room in Barstow Listening to the trucks on the freeway moan Harmonizing with every shifting gear And wondering just where the hell I’m going
(chorus)

Fancy Words
She rubbed her eyes and looked around Just as the sun was rising. She saw the note he’d left her In the early morning silence. At first she cursed, But then she smiled. Then she started crying. She memorized four simple lines That set her heart on fire….
“I’m not real good with fancy words that a woman likes to hear. But I would like to wake up every day and have you near. If you can tolerate me, I swear that I’ll be true. And I’m really glad I got to spend my time with you.”
She held the door and looked outside Just as the moon was rising. She took the note and flowers from him As he stood in silence. At first she cursed, But then she smiled. Then she started crying. She recognized four simple lines That set her heart on fire….
“I’m not real good with fancy words that a woman likes to hear. But I would like to wake up every day and have you near. If you can tolerate me, I swear that I’ll be true. And I’m really glad I got to spend my time with you.”
She closed her eyes and laid her head Down upon his shoulder. She thought about the years They’d spent together growing older. He’d made her curse, She’d made him smile. She’d even seen him crying. Through all the years – the joys and fears – He kept her heart on fire… (by saying)
“I’m not real good with fancy words that a woman likes to hear. But I would like to wake up every day and have you near. If you can tolerate me, I swear that I’ll be true. And I’m really glad I got to spend my time with you.”
…And I’m really glad I got to spend my life with you.”
