Running 200 watts to a 6 ohm speaker shoud require at least what size of wire to connect the amp to the speaker? Is it different if the speaker is 8 ohms?

How long is the wire?
I'd probably use 14 gauge if it's short, 12 gauge if it's long.

You can use regular lamp guage same that is used in house lamps, etc and you can buy the lengths you need at a hardware store. Just twist the ends and solder. Most lamp guage will have a rough side and a smooth side to assist you in phasing the speakers correctly. I use the rough side for black or ground and the smooth side for red or postive.
