This one is paryt three of a trilogy.
Never intended to do one of them things but one thing led to another so this one follows Lingering Spirit and Is My Mind A Awndereer?
Got some big bones of contention in it I believe.
It doesn't have music. Bit of a head tune is all but metred OK the way it went.
So long as each bit flows into the next I will be happy.
Regards.

Every Heart Searches For Shangrila

There’s a place I go and always know.
I’ll find contentment there.
A sheltered shoal where I feel whole.
In the sea of life’s despair
Even when I’m far away.
It’s memory.
Comforts me inside.
And calms the tide.
In the sea of life’s despair.

I first saw it in a vision.
That some how came to me.
I knew I’d, never been there.
But it seemed a lovely place to be.
Then one day I found it.
Accidentally.
And it became a home.
To a dreamer’s revere.

Chorus
Every heart searches for.
Shangrila.
I found mine.
And solace to my mind.
An inner peace fills me.
When I walk beside that tranquil sea.
With my spirit that still lingers
And gives my life tranquillity.

Instrumental
When I sit mid the tumbled stones.
That once were a home.
I talk to.
The spirit I feel lingers there.
Fantasy I know.
But none the less.
She helps me face reality.
I sit warm in the lea.
Of a derelict wall.
And gaze out to the sea,
And my spirit friend sits.
And talks sense into me.

Chorus
Every heart searches for.
Shangrila.
I found mine.
And solace to my mind.
An inner peace fills me.
When I walk beside that tranquil sea.
With my spirit that still lingers
And gives my life tranquillity.

Not bad, Graham. I couldn't get a rhythm for it, what with all the different line lengths, but as long as you can, that's all that matters. You could stand to lose one or two "And"s in the chorus. Ya got a typo in the "reverie" line. (You should type "Shangri-La", for that matter. [Linked Image] ) Also, even with my decent vocabulary, I still have no idea what a lea or a derelict wall are. And lastly, verse 2 (or the build-- whatever you want to call it) is nice, but totally unnecessary.

Nice job overall! I like it.

Anthony
Thanks Anthony.
That you can't get a rhythm does not surprise me given you have never developed any music skills.
Your way with words is what I need from you. Thanks Anthony.
The verse two or whatever I call it may seem a bit of a waste at the moment because the chorus wasn't the chorus originally and I haven't decided where to alter the lingering spirit referances yet.
It will work in time. Worth working on if for no other reaso than it is nice.
A lea is the side of anything seltered from the wind Anthony. Particularly pertaining to the sea. "The ship sheltered in the lea of the island.
As recorded in history when the French stumbled on Esperance running from a storm.
You gotta be kidding about derelict. Or the having a decent vocabulary.
Falling down is a close meaning. Both the word and the vocab Cobber.
Thanks fro the big go over Anthony. Iy needs it.
REgards.

G'day Kaley. Thanks Dear.
Said to myself "Kaley will follow this setup fine,"
Currently I am going to try the pop latin style I tried on the is My Mind A Wanderer one first then swapped to a balard base beat instead as the pop just didn't ring true in that one.
Maybe go to a Bolero or Bosa Nova.
Regards.
