One reminiscent of some of the folk ballads of bygone days.

I HAVE A HEAVY LOAD

c2018 Brian Beecher

Hey, hey, hey, I have a heavy load
When good lovin’ turns to hate
Can seem like a giant weight
Your ability to commit
Is bound to take a great big hit
Since she left I’ve been slacking off
Might as well have the whooping cough
I have a heavy load

She wanted to play with our emotions
And the very foundation of security
Hey, hey, hey, I have a heavy load

Did a number on myself and my needs
No time to think about doing great deeds
I have a heavy load

Painted ladies there is room for all of you
Especially those who can relieve my gloom
You can always step outside your paradigm
And take a new view to help a soul unwind
If you’re ready to get out of your own way today
How ‘bout us engaging in a little play
Cause he, I have a heavy load

Hoping that in just a few minutes
I may stop thinking about the love I lost
Hey, hey, hey, I have a heavy load

I can spend the night if it’s OK
Feelin’ much better by the break of day
Cause hey, I have a heavy load

I had a friend, starting her third marriage ask me, "How does it go from Wedding Cake Couple to pistols at 20 paces?" There is surely a song in there somewhere and your lyrics are on that road.
