Question -- who has successfully pitched a song?? - 12/20/06 06:29 PM
Ok, this has probably been asked before, but I'm asking again anyway.
I realize every situation is different, and that a lot of rejection is involved.
Let me be a little more clear.
This question is more along the lines of what goes into a "demo" song that you want to pitch to a publisher (or whoever).
When you record a song you want to pitch, do you need to use a "full" band (guitars, percussion, etc.) or can you just do it singing with your acoustic?
Again, I realize every situation (& every person/entity you pitch your song to) is different.
If you have pitched a song (a publisher has compensated you somehow, or you reached some type of agreement with a publisher, whatever) successfully, how did you record it? What steps did you take to pitch it? Did you have an "in"? Did you need a lawyer?
I've got a couple of songs that I might want to pitch, eventually (after I record them and put them on my album )
Just looking for information.
