1999
Demo: Kevin Wicker, Progress Nashville

In í99 when you were mine
I thought we had it all
Autumn turned to winter
And our love took a fall
Now I'm counting days instead of years
Can't wait for them to end
Lord I wish that we could just go back
And do it all again

Chorus
Back in í99 a fire burned bright
Deep down in our soul
The world was spinning a mile a minute
Now it's slowed down to a crawl
So much has changed
Yet still remains
Guess Iíve lost my mind
íCause my heart is stuck in 1999

My mind drifts back to that old shack
Out on Shady Lake
Moonlit nights I held you tight
Iíd feel your body shake
I wanted love to last forever
You said that it takes time
Now it's all just a memory
From 1999

Back in í99 a fire burned bright
Deep within my soul
The world was spinning a mile a minute
Now it's slowed down to a crawl
So much has changed
Yet still remains
Guess Iíve lost my mind
íCause my heart is stuck in 1999

Bridge
Where does love go when it disappears
Cause it still hurts after all these years
Time moved on without you and me
And left me searching for what used to be

Back in í99 a fire burned bright
Deep within our soul
The world was spinning a mile a minute
Now it's slowed down to a crawl
So much has changed
Yet still remains
Guess Iíve lost my mind
íCause my heart is stuck in 1999

Thanks for the listen and comments. I'll pass it on to Kevin as he did all the work on this.

Thanks Glynda. I too think Kevin did a great job on this one. He once had a record deal with Atlantic but when that fell thru he has been running his own recording studio. I think he told me he did the original demo for Indian Outlaw.

Working in Texarkana huh? You're only a couple of miles away from where I live if you're working at Dubois. Small world.

Hi Roy, good tune, he could probably sing the phone book and make it sound good smile

Roy,
Your song is lovely..Almost a Lee Greenwood style to it which is definately appealling to the public. Lyrics and melody are outstanding throughout the piece.. This song can go someplace in the country realm in my opinion and It should. Great SONG Roy!!!
