Up There In Heaven

i don't know what time it is up there in heaven
i don't even know if it's day or night
just thought i'd send this prayer i've been saving
for the angel of my life

i don't know if it's raining up there in heaven
i don't even know if the sun always shines
please honor my words to the soul of a woman
who once was a true love of mine

she was my angel on earth
she was my life's worth
so take care of her i pray
let my death be divine
and i pray in time
we'll meet again on my final day

i don't know if i'll make my way up there in heaven
i don't even now if it's there i'm bound
but i'm praying for the day i hold that woman
for then my death will be safe and sound

Nice tune, Mike. Really nice arrangement and instrumentation. Such a classic country feel!

Wow

What a beautiful piece of music. The subject matter got me all choked up. Nice work Michael! Love that fiddle? Violin? Velvety smooth arrangement. Nice...

Wow. very nice. And I haven't been able to hear it yet.
Still I was wanting a different line than the last one.

Consider...

But I'm praying for the day i hold that woman
I'm praying soon, my turn comes around.

Mike,

I like the musical break and the build in the last verse. I also like the idea of a man singing about his lady in heaven. I guess there are some country tunes like that but I can't think of one.

I can't assume I will get to heaven, so never could have written this..

This has a nice vibe to it.

Reminds me of Elvis' answer when asked why he wore a Star of David and a Cross. "I'm hedgin' my bets."

Great job on a theme that could easily have been maudlin. You pulled it off though with excellent writing and a nice supporting production. Enjoyed it.
