A song about How we don't need Religion to bring us to God.
Religion just seems to divide us NOT bring us together.

I’M A BELIEVER

WHEN WE ARE BORN WE ALL START OUT THE SAME
BUT FROM OUR PARENTS WE ALL LEARN DIFFERENT GAMES
THERE’S A BURNING DESIRE FOR THE TRUTH
FOR SOME THERE’S FAITH BUT OTHERS NEED PROOF
WHEN WE ARE BORN
WE ALL START OUT THE SAME

I LOOK AROUNDAT THINGS I DON’T UNDERSTAND
A BIRD IN FLIGHT OR A FLOWER ATTACHED
BLUE SKIES ABOVE WATER COVERS THE EARTH
FALLING IN LOVE THE WONDERS OF BIRTH

I LOOK AROUND AT THINGS I DON’T UNDERSTAND

I’M A BELIEVER
MOSLEM, BUDDHIST, CHRISTIAN OR JEW
I’M BELIEVER
THERE’S A GOD I’M TELLING YOU

I’M A BELIEVER
DON’T BELIEVE WHAT THE HEATHENS SAY
I’M A BELIEVER
WE’LL FIND OUT THE TRUTH ON JUDGEMENT
DAY

ONE MAN’S TRUTH IS ANOTHER MAN’S FANTASY
WHAT WORKS FOR YOU MY FRIEND MAY NOT WORK FOR ME
EVERYONE NEEDS TO FIND THAT PLACE IN THEIR SOUL
THAT DEFINES THAT LIFE AND SHEDS LIGHT ON THEIR ROLE
ONE MANS TRUTH IS ANOTHER MANS FANTASY

YA TURN ON THE TUBE THE PREACHER SAYS KNEEL DOWN AND PRAY
THEY SELL YOU GOODS & YOU REACH IN YOUR POCKET AND PAY

CAN’T BUY SALVATION WITH A DOLLAR BILL
AND YOU CAN’T GET TO HEAVEN JUST BY SAYIN YOU WILL
I TURN ON THE TUBE & THE PREACHER SAYS
KNEEL DOWN AND PRAY

Barry, I really dig your voice and the basic melody is good. The lyrics are a mixture of abstract and concrete ideas which might be confusing to someone listening to song. I don't think your written lyrics match the sung ones. That's a nit I know. Actually, the sung lyrics, I think, are better. Even with the abstract and concrete ideas, you go on the other side of the "believer" theme and consider/address the hypocrites in the church; pretty daring stuff. I think you'll need to focus on just a few ideas in the verses to support your message in the chorus. There is a huge Christian music market but I think the melody and your vocal could take the song to a different genre and topic. A few things to think about. Thanks for sharing.
