V1
I met Micheline in a beach bar,
The sun was beating down,
We were sitting underneath a tiki hut,
letting some drinks slide down

V2
Hers had a pink umbrella,
Mine was a Mexican brew,
I said hey there baby,
May I come and sit with you

Ch
The day wore on and the drinks were strong,
Micheline started to smile,
I said hey baby, what d'ya want to do
Would you come with me for a while

V3
Micheline liked the beach bar,
But I took her for a stroll on the sand,
We didn't get far before I stole a kiss,
and soon we walking hand in hand

V4
Somehow we found my hotel
Stumbled into my room,
Things got hot then I got a shock,
She shouldn't be a bride but a groom

CH

Br
Micheline began as a Michael,
But he thought he was really a girl,
He was really convincing until I started thinking,
'bout that Adam's apple north of his pearls

Nice little twist, Colin. I was surprised! But not sure the bride and groom line works...since no one was getting married. Don't know what to put there instead but I'm sure you can come up with something...that is, if others have problems with it. Cute little song.

Ha ha!!!! An unexpected twist. I didn't really see it as an issue to say 'not a bride but a groom'.

Caught me as well.

Thanks for checking it out, all.....

After FAWM, I might change the last choruses to reflect the discovery. Hope to record a draft this weekend.

Hey Colin..

You put a nice twist on this sister.
Great last line on the bridge.

Larry,

Thanks for checking in. I'll polish it up after FAWM!

Even though Lola did this first, I enjoyed it when you made it happen again Colin...

Have a suggestion for the pick up line...

Can I spend some time with you

Leads nicely into the day you describe

John,

Thanks - I will put that on the table for the rewrite.

I didn't care for the gender-bender twist (been done too well in that other popular song already) so I came up with a new twist for you--keep or sweep:

Micheline Copyright © 2010 Colin Ward

VERSE 1
Met Micheline at tiki bar
Sun was beating all around
Sittin’ underneath a canopy
lettin’ them ice-cold drinks slide down
Hers had a pink umbrella
Mine was a blueish green
We touched glasses to her pretty smile
Prettiest I’d ever seen

CHORUS 1
The daylight faded but the drinks were strong,
As Micheline’s inviting smile
Said hey baby, whadd’ya wanna do
Will you walk with me for a while

VERSE 2
Took Micheline by her soft little hand
Strolled with her on that cool beach sand
Didn't get far before I stole a kiss
Swayin’ to the steel drum band
We shared a taxi to my hotel
Laughin’ we stumbled into my room,
Talked awhile and I pulled her close
She tripped and broke her nose

BRIDGE
Blood everywhere
Gave us a pretty good scare
Couldn’t wait to get outta there
Looked like a damn crime scene

CHORUS 2
The daylight gone but the drinks were strong,
As Micheline’s inverted smile
Said hey baby let’s get you to a doctor
I’ll call a taxi for another ride

OUTRO
That’s the story of Micheline
It could only happen to me
Mighta got laid
If not for the stumbling

Stunt Brain,

Thanks for taking the time to work on this. Lola is 40 years old and anybody under 45 or so has probably never heard it. So I thought I would revisit the subject.

Anyway, I will wait until February Album Writing Month is over to do a rewrite and I will keep yours in mind,

Thanks again

Colin,

You dirty rat...LMAO! You had me til the bridge....you crack me up! Seriously, I can see a great song here but you went off the wall lol. Heck I know what you're capable of so I'm not gonna suggest a thing. I figure you'll change it if you want to. Thanks for the laughs!

Regards,

Wes

Colin,
this looks real good though I don't know how many times I'd want to do the chorus after the twist in v4. If you could save that for a bridge to end on, filling in with more build up, it might hit even stronger. But it works pretty well as is.

have fun,
John
