v
We'll close our country road, till midnight even turn off our only traffic light We've got big bowls of fresh fruit punch lots of fried chicken for folks to munch When we've danced up a healthy appetite at the hoedown in hicktown tonight v We've some good 'ole music from way back when got a fiddle player taught by Uncle Penn We've hired the finest caller you oughta hear this guy holler Everyone will be dressed party nice For the hoedown in hicktown tonight b They'll be courtin couples slippin' away to go kissin' and squeezin' in the hay You'll hear them gigglin' and sneezin' Then they'll fall asleep until the break of day v The hottest thing since the fourth of July kids got pop bottle rockets to light up the sky They'll be great prizes and raffles, ducking for big rosie red apples collect your tickets off Miss Bailey or Dwight for the hoedown in hicktown tonight

Travis, I think I attended the event about 20 years ago. Had a great time. I see the line dancers in your song got a few kicks in at Blake Shelton. But no damage was done.
I agree with James, this should be loaded with fiddles and banjos and some real hooting and hollering. Pass me some of that fried chicken.

Hey Travis, Tweaks/comments below, keep or sweep I'm not sure about putting the hook at the beginning and end of each verse. Normally in an AABA song, the hook is in either the first line or last, not both. If you decide to change, keep the hook in the last line.Words in [color:#FF0000]red are duplicate words. Try to avoid this.[/color] v There's a hoedown in hicktown tonight We'll close our county road, till nearly midnight We've got big bowls of fresh fruit punch lots of fried chicken for you to munch Be the best thing here since electric lights There's a hoedown in hicktown tonight v There's a hoedown in hicktown tonight we'll turn off our only traffic lightWe've hired the finest caller you oughta hear this guy holler Everyone will be dressed party nice For the hoedown in hicktown tonight b We like our country classics, Blake Shelton might say we're "jackasses" But we're kinda stuck in our ways- nothing wrong with the old fashioned wayMaybe in about three years, when his attitude clears- he'll just realise, how wet he was behind the ears v There's a hoedown in hicktown tonight lots of dancing and squeezing real tight They'll be great prizes and raffles, ducking for big ros ey red apples Get tickets from Miss Bailey or Dwight for the hoedown in hicktown tonight

HiDee Bro Trav'!!!
Gotcha a Goodin' Here, Amigo...(Tho might wanna have alt.-lines for the Blake Shelton Brouhaha...usually takes a Year or More for a Song to sift thru the Filtering Process & get cut/that Li'l Incident'll be soon-enough-forgotten..he's already apologized to Ray Price/Apology's been Accepted. Publicly.)
Here come some Line Sugs:
"A HOT fiddle player taught by Uncle BEN"
"KIDS GOT POP-BOTTLE ROCKETS TO LIGHT UP THE SKY" ('Cuz Firecrackers stay on-the-Ground, Mostly)
"Duckin' for FRESH-PICKED MACINTOSH apples"
