DIRECTLY TO MY HEART V1 You're finally talking Directly to my heart Was it simply a case of knowing how to start The warmth that I'm feeling Is like a breath of sun With my hand in yours Love between us is fun
Chorus You've given me candy And kisses before Surprised me with flowers And cards at my door Gifts are mindful And can give love it's start But lately you're talking Directly to my heart
V2 Not too long ago I felt cold and unsure Could the love we found Be the kind to endure Now I am feeling It won't come undone By us going slowly We can finish the run
Bridge #2 Some games lovers play often lead to a breakup Leaving others no choice or chance for a makeup But our love's been tempered by ice and by fire To withstand temptations and wanton desire
V3 We have shut out the past Let our love overcome A look to the future Shows us acting as one With every passing day Our load feels much lighter And with each passing night Our love light shines brighter
Chorus repeat Pete Evanson,All Rights Reserved

hi Pete I assume by the chorus this for a female singer. Great title, I thought Barbra Mandrell might would come one like it after her book came out.
Maybe put in a few relateable details of their relationship.

Hi Pete,
Good song. I like the rhyming structure. I don't think that this song needs to be confined to a female singer. Anyone who has been in love or knows about love could sing this song.

Dennis & Leslie, I thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Yes, it is a song for a female singer. The lyrics are simplistic but, IMO, ring true. Pete
