I'm sort of a Liberal except that I'm Pro Life and don't think the Violence Problem in America is a Gun Problem...Figured I'd address the issue in a song!

Since "apple pie" doesn't add anything but a slice of Norman Rockwell sentimentality to the story line, how about "God, guns and guts." That way you add an element of the courageous to the title and also set the worship priorities in the correct order. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the comment. This is a topic I thought I'd be on the other side BUT I JUST don't agree with the Knee Jerk Attitude of the Liberals here. THE GOVERNMENT in some Future time will NOT be able to screw us over that easily.....I DO see a time in the Future where the State National Guards are in war with the Feds....I don't have a gun now BUT would like it Easy and cheap to purchase all that I want. I do think getting Mentally Ill people some intervention early....( I was a Psych Nurse and there are lots of them )...no problem with checking people out a bit more.....BUT.....I say the Founding Fathers Knew where of they Speak.

I agree on a lot of what you say.....better background checks, better mental health and prevention, etc....BUT I do NOT Trust our Government, especially in a future time....Have you seen any drones over head lately. If I'm in a Mall and somebody starts shooting I hope SOMEBODY has a gun to shoot THEM...Too Many Guns already out there and no matter what we do the crazies and sicko's will get them....Just my opinion.
The Police and even Security come when it's too late...We are on our own unless we can protect outselves.....Barry

Point being that anything can be used as a weapon, but guns are MADE to KILL.

Not sayin' take away everyone's guns, but let's put some restrictions and regulations into place that actually make sense.
Nobody but somebody who plans on killing a lot of people needs assault weapons or high-capacity magazines.

You don't think God sent Adam and Eve from the Garden as a punishment, do you? He had a good reason. He was protecting Paradise from a human race that's been at each others throat ever since Adam tried to pin the blame for the fall from grace on Eve. Nuclear weapons, biologic and chemical weapons, AR-15s, knives, clubs and our own two hands. Violence is in the human DNA. Which doesn't mean we shouldn't take prudent measures to rein it in.

The people who perpetrate these heinous crimes are normally found to have mental issues right? But even they can see what so many on this thread can't seem to comprehend. Its as plain as the nose on your face. Where do these attacks all take place? In gun free zones where ALL the victims will be un-armed because legal law abiding gun owners obey the laws. I've never seen a gun fire itself, and banning ar15s would not have stopped the assault at Sandyhook. Chicago has the toughest gun restrictions in the nation and yet they are averaging just under 2 homicides a day. Restricting/punishing legal law abiding gun owners will do nothing to change that because the problem is with the criminal element, and they carry whenever they go. Good song B. I think you need to come out of the closet though, yer no lib!

As song ... it is sort of unimaginative. Yea, a lot of folks will pat you on the back for stating the obvious, but gun ownership is really not under any attack that I can see. Now ammo -- that might be another story.

Hey Todd.....I'm not a lib or a conservative....I just change with the issues and mostly use common sense....and my own self interest. BUT I am into the common good also.

I don't think wanting to protect our children (or grandchildren in my case) from violence is either left or right... it's a given!! How we get there is where the lines appear. I don't see the need for 30 round clips (other than machismo or to kill) but I don't see why a Bushmaster is any different than a frying pan? I have expert marksman ribbons with a variant of the Bushmaster as well as a 9 mm Glock (hell I'm qualifed on an 870, sawed off,pump shotgun too) so I know what they can do and I respect them. There must be some solution though cause all these innocents being killed is a problem crying for a solution!! OK, off my soapbox, Barry thanks for bringing this up! :))) scotty

What is the big flippin' deal with wanting to have some protections in place? Nobody is coming to your house to take away your guns. Just want some measures in place.

Arming teachers will not protect us. Just more dead in the crossfire. More dead with weapons accidents.

I agree with background checks on everybody and better Mental Health.....BUT just leave the laws alone.

With assault rifles?

I'm not sure about Assault Rifles for people who can pass a rigorous background check.

Assault Rifles should not be sold to people who are mentally ill or people who do not know how to handle a gun.

What is a quick easy test to determine these things about a gun buyer?

If they are trying to buy a gun that holds more than 10 bullets, then they either have serious anger issues or they just cant shoot straight.

After the guns they are really coming for us.
