Sorry I haven't been listening to many tunes - been pretty sick for over a month with some horrendous bug. I recorded the music tracks to this awhile back - just knowing the first and last line to each verse. Yesterday was the first day I've felt a spring in my step since early May - so I finished it off. Just a simple thing......short and sappy... If My Legs Could Walk a Million Miles is here: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=377550&songID=11722070I'll stick the lyric below. Scott If My Legs Could Walk a Million Miles (c) 2012 by S.W. Campbell If my legs could walk a million miles I’d walk that many just to see you smile I’d burn through a thousand pairs of shoes For you to kiss away my blues If my legs could walk a million miles If my mind could dream a billion dreams I’d dream movies where you starred in every scene Heroine or femme fatale Either way you’d be my gal If my mind could dream a billion dreams If I can’t dream a billion dreams Then I can hatch a dozen schemes…… Instrumental verse If I can’t dream a billion dreams Then I can hatch a dozen schemes…… If my heart could beat a trillion times It’d beat a pattern only yours would find It would call you like a jungle drum Until our two would beat as one If my heart could beat a trillion times If my heart could beat a trillion times If my heart could beat a trillion times

SCOTT--
MAN WEVE MISSED YOU--HOPE YOU ARE OVER THE BUG--WELCOME BACK--THIS SONG IS FINE AS WINE, WITH YOUR CLASSIC HARP--IS THAT A CHROMATIC HARP?
YOU'RE BACK IN FASHION WITH THIS ONE!
LATER,
WRITE ON--
Mackie Thanks Mackie - I miss this place when I'm away from it for any real length of time. No, it's not a chromatic - I had to do one major bend to hit the note. Scott \

Hi Scott, I'm so sorry to hear that you've been sick. Wow, you've been sick for a long time too! I hope you stay on the road to recovery. This is a very cool song. I also love the beat, the vocal, lyric, well I like all of it. Dottie

Hey Scott, To keep from repeating "walk" in the second line, I offer this as an alternative, keep or sweep I know I'd go that far to see you smile Hey Shayne: Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, that would work. However, in this case I did that intentionally. If you look at the second line in all three verses it uses the corresponding main word from the line before. I find that technique pleasing. I'm sure not everybody does though Scott

Hey Scott, I like the melody. You have a way of inventing good melodic songs. The harp only added and reinforced a good melody that appeals to the ear.
I love your songs Scott. That's high praise, Ben. Thanks! Melodies are tough because whenever I get one I like, I become convinced I lifted it. Scott

Really nice, Scott. I especially like it when the harmony kicks in. Not really sure why the numbers increase. Maybe a million is enough but hey ho. Good to see you back. Vic Thanks Vic - glad you liked it. The numbers had to be a little outrageous. Couldn't say "walk a hundred miles" because that's doable. And a trillion is just too many. For heartbeats though, it's a different story. Assuming about 60 beats per minute, a heart will beat a million times in less than a year and a billion in about 30 years. So needed to go bigger. Sometimes it doesn't do me any good that I like math and science. Scott

Dang -- you always do a great job on your tunes. Ya know 50/90 is starting July 4th. My goal this year is to co-write a tune with you (or 50!). I am glad you are feeling better. I had a might nasty one last fall, I thought for sure I was dying! But I pulled through to annoy the world with more tunes. I just can't critique your tunes -- it's like trying to tell Babe Ruth how to hit a home run (there's a song idea right there). Kevin

I'm sorry our plans for earlier in the year fell through - I over-committed myself on some things and was far busy than I expected. But I'm willing to try again now. Glad to hear that this thing can be survived. Glad you liked this, Kevin Scott

hey scott, you've got a 'bell' in your surname, you've got to make it ring ! glad you're fine and to hear it again, wonderful song kinda dylan had met porter ;-) I've already told you LOL Thanks Max. I reckon there's a difference between ringing my bell and having my bell rung. Hope to do more of the former and less of the latter I like this style but don't know if the muse will keep sending them to me. She's a little fickle. We'll see. Scott

A wonderful treat indeed, Scott. That harp playing and your harmonies are as sweet as ever.
A fun listen and really good write.
I see that bug hasn't dulled your skills at all.
U R still the man.
Thanks Nelson Don't know if the bug dulled my skills or not. Definitely dulled my enthusiasm for awhile though. Starting to get it back Scott

Another from the Campbell Bag-O-Songs, very cool groove and sentiment, good song all around. Man I wish I could play harp, well I can play harp if its in a comedy skit, but I mean really play like in a song and stuff... Cheers Paul

Scott,
Really good song. I like the feel of it. Good 5 line verse sandwiches! Gives a cool resolve to each verse.
Sorry no great suggestions from me.
Ricky Thanks Ricky: I've had this tune in mind forever - just didn't have the words. So I recorded the music tracks figuring that would force me into it. It did - but just barely Scott

Cheers Paul Hey Paul: My favorite parts of the recording process are doing harmonies and blowing harp. Most of the time, I'll play the part 10 or 15 times - not because I didn't get it right but just because it was fun Thanks, Scott

Just wanted to let you know, I just recorded my first bit of harp play.
Then I came back for another listen and I almost erased it but what the hell, gotta start somewhere... eh?
I'm really inspired by your crafting of your songs. It's pro stuff... in all aspects.
Keep up the excellent work, us greenhorns are watching... intently.
Thanks Nelson. But you're no greenhorn Looking forward to hearing you play harp! Scott

Hey Scott!
Listened to this a few times, 'bout time I said so!!
Great lyric and was missing your voice, happy to hear you again, glad you are well, love the harmonies, you always do such a great job and it is my pleasure to listen multiple times!!
Tammy Thanks Tammy! Cool that it was worth listening to more than once. I've been letting the song you sent me percolate a little. It's getting close Scott

Sick since MAY???!!!! UGH..... I broke my ankle about 8 weeks ago, I can sorta sympathize with - not getting up and about and feeling crummy. Kudos to you that you got some writing done! This has the classic Scott feel .. I so enjoy your songwriting & chord progressions and all that stuff. Great to hear you again. Hope you're mending and feeling better day by day! I'm not reading whole threads.... can't right now... just listening and typing my thoughts as I go -- as the song plays & I read the lyrics etc. PM me if you have anything specific for me... I'm dashing in, dashing out just barely on the boards these days ... but better than not here at all L

I was worried that it would be too similar to Vanessa Carlton - A Thousand Miles, but it's not. I dig it Scott! I hope you're feeling better too.
