I have Sonar 8.5.3 Studio and it looks like I can upgrade to SONAR X1 Producer for $99 (they had the same deal last December but I went for the BIAB upgrade instead!).
I have the waves plugins, so I am not sure I need the extra power of sonar producer -- but for $99, it might be doable (the upgrade is almost always $199).
Convince me I need it (ha, ha).

You need talent Kevin, wait, I need talent! But you definetly need an upgrade, wait I need an upgrade! I always say if you want it, and you have the money buy it! Look at it this way Kevin, you are helping the economy!

Kevin I am not a Sonar user so do not know the extra benefits of the upgrade. That said a lot of upgrades are simply not worth the extra money. The "extras" offered are often specialised stuff few of us use much so the basic program usually meets all our needs. A lot of the time a new version has little or no benefit over the previous program...it is just a new way of gaining extra sales.....plus it sometimes needs a learning curve as it takes time getting used to the new controls.

Its only $100. Skip a few meals. Tell your wife you want to stay home this weekend instead of going out. Tell your children the stores won't be stocking any toys again until fall. You deserve this upgrade.

"If one man can do it, any man can do it. It is true. But the real question is, if one man did it, are you willing to do what it takes to do it as well?" –Brian Austin Whitney
