Just sharing more of the past with new & old friends here. Rock songs like this don't have to have clear lyrics or tell stories. They just need to evoke emotion and be effective and I always felt this one did just that. It holds a special place for me as it was around the time where I last could actually stand up play and sing. And basically move!:) That year was a rough one, very frustrating and aggravating especially with the doctors and the job. And while I was able to re-coupe after bad vertigo-ish attacks and accomplish a hell of alot more musically, I KNEW then I was facing a problem that wasn't going away and would lead to more troubles and uncertainty. Hence those lyrics! Please excuse the warbled flanging sound if your getting it, almost all of my video's sound screwed up when I listen here at home. I don't know why, story of my LIFE! lol Middle Of NothingMiddle Of Nothing 3:36 The atmosphere is cold and gloomy Your chilling stare, it goes right through me But just the same Straight to hell with good intentions The fragile world of my dementia Bursts into flames, It's never gonna be I pray for something In the middle of nothing No leads to follow Where will I be tomorrow I pray for something In the middle of nothing No pride to swallow Where will I be tomorrow Where will I be? The road ahead don't look easy I trusted you and you deceived me I whisper in vein The room is full I'm suffocating Afraid to breathe there's no escaping It's such a shame It's never gonna be I pray for something In the middle of nothing No leads to follow Where will I be tomorrow I pray for something In the middle of nothing No pride to swallow Where will I be tomorrow Where will I be? You left me down Down on my knees all senses dead You placed a crown this crown of thorns upon my head I pray for something In the middle of nothing No leads to follow Where will I be tomorrow I pray for something In the middle of nothing No pride to swallow Where will I be tomorrow Where will I be? ©2003 Caro/Thomas

Hi Mike, It seems that soundclick is down this morning. I read the lyric and it's very touching. I'll try again later. Dottie

Doggon it Mike. How is it that when I see your name on something I know instinctively that it's going to be outstanding. Can't you do just one thing, one time down here on my level???

I am going to have to say it again Mike. This and some of the other songs I have heard you produce should have been hits in a top 40 somewhere - sometime.
Well in a way they are, its just not where enough people know about it. Certainly, a hit here.
I thought the video was pretty cool also.

I pray for something In the middle of nothing
I love this line. I had to listen several times, I would love some Hammond Organ. Too Much? Just listened again. I can hear the organ sing in the background and then comes on strong at the second "It's never gonna be"

Hey Mike, this is unusual and impressive! Deserves recognition for sure. The Music Industry needs this kind of booster shot. Damn it! This is top-of-the-line material. Best, John

Hi Mike, I’d put this one right up there with I’m like Brookline!!! First it starts out with a great beat that just screams listen to me. I agree with you 100% about the lyric I don’t feel like ANYTHING is missing. And who can’t relate to this “where will I be tomorrow”. I love the title too. I’m being completely honest when I say there is nothing I don’t love about this. Someone else (sorry I forgot who) said this should have been a hit and I agree with that too. You have more talent in your little finger than I’ll probably ever have. You’ve taught me the secret to a great song and that is the beat you hear the first few seconds of the song. There aren’t a lot of songs (that I know) that grabs me like this in the first few seconds. I don’t know how you do it but I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to figure it out! I hope you’ll post some more of your songs. I thought I had found them all (yes I went looking for them) after I heard I’m like Brookline, but I never found this one so it’s likely I missed some others too. I still pray for you every night. Dottie

Mike, Right on...A very very very nice song from a very tallented person. Soundclick wouldn't let me hear all of it and I was looking for just a music link without the video due to some kind of problems there. None the less,,, a fantastic song from the heart. I wish you luck my friend... YOU take care of yourself and get better.. BOB

Thanks all you guys. Stevie your level keeps getting higher & higher my friend. You don't realize it, which is how it works. The more time and effort you put in the less you actually think. And when you're not thinking sometimes you learn and grow. Did I just make any sense? Sure I did, lol That's because we're usually thinking about WHEN we are going to get better.

Enjoyed that Mike! A bit more distortion and Noel Gallagher will be calling... -Mike Ya know I did want it be heavier, but no fuzz or overdrive was working anything I tried ruined the track. That's the day I learned that "heavy" did not have to be heavy lol. You can be heavy without distortion, or drop tuning, Acoustics can be heavy and so can pianos. Now live you can get away with that heavy distorted guitar in there

Secret there's a click track in there so it BETTER stay in that pocket LOL. Thanks, the whole trick with a click is to eventually play like your not playing to one. Hey our friend here for a few years back Sue Lainey loved this song sooo much she passed it along to try to get it placed on "Nip Tuck" she had a placement on that show and told me that I should as well. Even after I explained that, I was not thee/a artist and wouldn't be the final singer, this was just me doing it to show someone else the song. She laughed, and said "give ma that recording" She was a sweet girl. LOVED her voice and guitar playing!

I can hear the organ sing in the background and then comes on strong at the second "It's never gonna be" Ya know I have a hammond organ with a leslie cabinet sitting right behind me ALWAYS. I think I may have tried to stick it into every song we every did here LOL but this one... MAn you are so right it would kill in this. Actually at least there are some keyboards in the song, floating around the bridge.. But it could rock with a huge hammond in the choruses, then mellow in the latter verses. That could have been the substitute for the distorted guitar... Thanks, If I ever re-visit it for God know's what I'm trying the Hammond!

Thanks John
I appreciate that, a massive long shot for mainstream even if it were the 90's or earlier 2000's UNLESS your a band. Most bands have a sound and style then after there third album of the same sound and style they slip away usually. I never have or had that problem as a writer, musician or a self contained band also I would change singers almost every album. Like I said never had that problem.. why? 1- No success lol 2- Nobody to deal with creatively or business wise. Without those things you just do whatever you want.
And what I want beside a hit to pay me (Forever) so I can do what I want, and NEVER again have to defend this choice of life.. is to always be extremely versatile and improve at every facet. Including that versatility.

Fantastic Mike. There isn't anything I don't like about it. This tune will be playing in my head the rest of the night. The video was great too.

The chord progression makes it. Reminds a bit of that song "I smell sex and candy" marcy's playground.
It has that Mary Janes Last Dance groove.
Might lack the big hook, but makes for a good album track or movie seque.
Nice sound, great work, enjoyed!

Hey just reminded myself of what this reminds me of...
"Drive" by Incubus.
That moreso than the other tunes I mentioned. Still hynotic and "groovy"
Cool tune!
