I have not heard of them before but I looked at the website and noticed that they charge for submissions. It is a relatively small fee and probably keeps them from being deluged, but in general, they should only benefit financially when they get you a placement IMHO. If their business model is to be successful by collecting submission fees, then run away. I would also want to know their history of successful placements, either TV and film, or publishing to a major artist. If there are no success stories, then run away again!

Hi - anyone have any insight to Songmatchmakers.network or Silk and Denim Music?
Thanks, Maureen Hi Maureen, Still undecided about them, though I believe they're legit. I signed 3 tracks with them several months back. Got an email saying my track(s) was picked up by producers of Vertical Pole Challenge for possible use this year in their series: http://www.verticalpolechallenge.com/index.html Still in the dormant stage. BTW, I didn't have to pay a submitting fee. I would have passed on them if I did. Keep in mind, they're exclusive and you sign the copyright over to them. There is a reversal clause where the tracks (and copyright) will revert back to you if not used/ placed. Can't remember, but I think it's two years. 50/50 deal with licensing and royalties. That's about normal. Unless you have some extra tracks gathering dust, I'd submit elsewhere. Depends what you're going for. They're new in the film/ TV library business. Not sure what kind of success they've had with song plugging. If you're interested in TV/film placements, there are better choices here: http://www.musiclibraryreport.com/Whatever you do, good luck! Best, John

BTW Maureen, there will be a mountain of paperwork involved in signing with them. It certainly discourages me from submitting more. John
