Hi Folks,
Well the unusual 11-11-11 date came and went without much notice. It is Veteran's Day here in America and there were a lot of activities around that however and we're reminded of the sacrifices people have made to keep the USA free from tyranny and open to liberty for us all, from the middle to the fringes.
I'm gearing up for another music awards cycle and want to find a way to get more of the diversity we find among the entrants (100 distinct genres of music) involved in more ways including here on the boards. I find the boards to be a wonderful family, but it's always tough for an outsider to step into a close knit group of any kind, and in music, especially among less mainstream genres, it's already a tough road to fit in to start with across the board. Anyone have any ideas?
I also need some help re-engaging some of the previous nominees and winners from earlier years of JPF. We lose about 5000K members a year through attrition (i.e. their emails become invalid). Some may sign up with new addresses, but many scatter to the wind, especially with Facebook so dominate these days for networking. I'd like to go through the thousands of nominees in all genres, track them down, and get them back involved with us, not just for the awards, but also for other stuff including our boards here, local chapters and various Roadtrips and events. I welcome any help I can get with this research and outreach.
So my 11-11-11 at 10:11PM is to try and find some help. Anyone game to get involved?
Brian

How about publishing a list of the ones you can't contact? They are bound to have a public facebook account. Think up a message you want them to have. Publish it and then we can do searches for them and send them the message.
Once you get the message and list ready, ask for volunteers to help with this. In a week and a half, I will be on Christmas vacation and will be happy to help. If enough of us pitch in, we could get quite a lot done.
