In my mind, Windows 7 does not seem to be as stable a system as previous versions. In the last several weeks I've had Internet Explorer give me error messages and the computer shut itself down the other day while it was rebooting from being off. This is a brand new system so it concerns me.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi Tricia too little info to be able to help much so here are some things to consider as it could be a number of things wrong....Windows 7 does have teething probs but generally is pretty stable. Here is a couple of links to help resolve the IE issue. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-vista/tips-for-solving-problems-with-internet-explorerhttp://forums.techarena.in/windows-software/1106599.htm You may want to try using an alternative browser like Mozilla firefox if symptoms persist or try uninstall and reinstall of explorer. It is also worth checking to see if your current version is the best or most recent for windows 7. You may instead have a virus or registry problems...it could be any number of things or even a combination. There coukd be a program conflict......process of elimination till you get it sorted...but it is not Win 7 or explorer per se thast is the problem...it can be fixed.....just a case of diagnostics and then fixing the cause.

Hey, Jim thanks. I ran a diagnostics and there are no software issues or viruses. It's weird. Haven't been on the computer much the past 2 days and won't be on much this weekend since I'm working. Will see if it continues to act crazy over the next week. It's just frustrating to have a new computer and it act stupid. I'm *SURE* it's not operator error.
