Here's another original from Diana & me. It's a Rhumba with a little Cha-Cha percussions for good measure. Diana wrote most of the lyric and sings it (it's obvious real quick that I'm not singing!). I did the musical arrangement. We hope you like it! And thanks for your visits and suggestions/comments. We're open to any suggestions for improvement. Alan & Di http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11091633 GHOST FROM THE PAST © 2011 Alan D. David, BMI / Diana Bowers, BMI VI SHE WALKS THE DARKENED STREETS AT NIGHT NEVER IN THE LIGHT OF DAY GREEN EYES THAT GLOW LIKE A CAT ON THE PROWL THAT SEEM TO LIGHT HER WAY SHE FLOATS LIKE A CLOUD UPON THE COBBLESTONES SURROUNDED IN MYSTERY NO ONE KNOWS WHO OR WHAT SHE IS THEY JUST LET HER BE….. CHORUS SOME SAY SHE’S A GHOST FROM THE PAST LOOKING FOR HER LOVER SHE DIED OF A BROKEN HEART WHEN HE FOUND ANOTHER…. SO EACH NIGHT SHE SEARCHES TO FIND HIM ONCE AGAIN (SHE’S JUST A GHOST FROM THE PAST – LAST CHORUS ONLY) VII SHE WALKS THRU THE TOWN IN A WEDDING GOWN THAT SHE WAS TO WEAR THAT DAY WITH FLOWERS IN HER HAIR WILTED ON THEIR STEMS AND DUST ON A FADED BOUQUET SEARCHING EVERY NIGHT WITH THE MOON FOR HER LIGHT SHE WAITS FOR DARKNESS AGAIN TO WALK THE STREETS LIKE ALWAYS BEFORE IN A SEARCH THAT WILL NEVER END. CHORUS INSTRUMENTAL REPEAT CHORUS

This is great!! REally like this melody and lyric...but Diana, you are the bomb girl!!!
I LOVE your phrasing and how you have styled this with your voice!!
The biggest let down, and I was loving every single moment until the very last line....
I say...let Diana go wild and sing it until she has gotten to a fantastic ending and then build the end around it. It cuts too short for me. I have found that I have cut endings off and shortened them because I have to follow the music track...I say adjust the ending and let her wail on "She's just a ghost from the past"....then you can put the little cha, cha, cha at the end....Give me more Diana at the end, I am a fan!!!
Loved it.

Tammy...
Awww...you're so sweet!!! Di (Diana's nickname) was so thrilled to read your comments about her vocals..so was I! You are so danged kind!
We are delighted you liked it, other than the abrupt ending. I spoke with Di about it and she said she would redo it as you suggested. She's a free-style sibnger and loves to take the music to places not originally intended. Works for me, too! We'll do that as soon as we can and repost when it's ready...probably late next week. Thanks for the great suggestion!
Wishing you everything good...

You and Diana are making beautiful music together -- ha, ha. Good tune, you really captured the genre pretty dang well. Good vocals, for sure.

Very cool, Al - great mysterious lyric filled with imagery. And the music is super! And the vocal too, of course! Wow - sounds like you two have created a great partnership. When the engines firing on all cylinders, put the pedal down and keep 'er going. Scott

Hi, Al!! Nice to see you again!!
I love this one... WOW.. that music is incredible, and Diana's vocal is superb!!!
This character just comes to life in this song... sounds nothing like "Delta Dawn", but the character shares a resemblance for me!
Great song... very nice work you two!!

ALAN & DI--
I get a movie Vibe from this one--somewhere in a village with the cobblestones-- Her Ghost haunting me, after having too much drink--She comes back night after night--A KIND OF "HERNANDO'S HIDEAWAY" SOUND FROM THE PAJAMA GAME, 1954.

Wow....
No one had anything bad to say????????
come to think of it, neither do I, a great production, vocals, I like the idea of letting Di runn free with a great prolonged ending, maybe a little skat singing as the song fades.
Great job I noticed one of your song writer influences is Skip Ewing, I don't see that very often. I was privileged to have a few tele-conferences with Skip about two years ago and learned a lot.

Thanks so much! We really appreciate those very kind words...really! We *are* gonna redo it with Di doing her trademark "freestyle-skat" touch. She does that style so well.
Yeah, I think Skip Ewing is a much over-looked lyrical talent. I first ran into him around 1988. He's not a bad singer, either!
Thanks again for the wonderful words! All the best...

Hi Al & Di, Nice job. The vocals are incredible. The percusion and feel is great but there is that real corny "canned" trumpet sound that kind of makes it a little cheesy IMO It would be cool to hear with some better quality trumpet sounds or fx. g

Howdy! Thanks for droppingin for a listen. And we really do appreciate all those nice words...thanks!
As we speak...new and much better software is on the way (lots of money!!!). A lot of the "cheesy" affects in previous songs will be history. As soon as I figure out how to use the softwarre, we'll be posting with it...we're very anxious! We think you'll see a *HUGE* difference. Bear with us until then! Thanks again and all the best...

Hey Al...
Haven't heard a Rhumba in a long time. Nicely done with some great vocals...I agree with Tams Di...turn it loose at the end.

Good job on this Al.
I like the feel of the music with the vocal. Fun stuff!
I know this is just a demo but I was hearing a lot of clipping/distortion. Just something to watch for.

Thanks a bunch! Glad you liked it! This is just the 2nd Rhumba I've written/cowritten. And yep, Di has a great voice! We have new music software enroute. When it gets here...and I manage the learning curve, we're going to redo this one with Di breaking lose at the end. She's a free-style skat singer by nature, so I know she'll smoke it big time! thanks again from both of us...

Hi Ricky...So nice to hear from you again!!!!!!
Glad you liked it! It was a fun song to wroite and came to me in a matter of just an hour or so.
The distortion is from two sources: 1. I forgot to cut employ the clipping control in the software and 2. Some of it appeared in the upload.
thanks again. great hearing from you!
