I saw this going on a guitar forum and thought it would be fun to play here! SONG ASSOCIATION GAME! HOW TO PLAY: Follow the song posted with an associated song. Include the song title and artist name. (Old anon songs, just list "Traditional.") Rules are pretty loose Use one or more words from either the Song Title or Artist name to make an association. IE: We Will Rock You - Queen
She Loves Me Like a ROCK - Paul Simon... Or something more vague! Life is A Highway - Rascal Flatts
Lights - JOURNEY because "highway" and "journey" are sorta related ideas. ... Or an association in the lyric, but please post the line you're referring to so we don't all go "Huh??" As in: That's The Way - Led Zeppelin
The Rose - Bette Midler "...yesterday, I saw you kissing tiny FLOWERS..." So.... if the association isn't obvious, please explain it so we can get it. Try not to post song repeats - but- it's only a game and there's no score. It's a good idea to use the "quick quote" feature just in case anybody's simultaneously replying, then we know what you were shooting for and don't assume you must be a bit tipsy. In that case, we just go with the latest time stamp for the next song. Try to trim your quotes to JUST the song title & artist to be nice If it's a really wicked cool association, I may come in and post you a Gold Star. If it's REALLY not obvious, and you forget to give an explanation, I may hit you with: "Boo! Are you drunk?" In which case you can either prove your association, or say either "Oops" or "Yes" and in the last two cases, we'll just reset the board to the song that came before. LOL!!! All right? Ready, set, GO! OK I'll start. ======================= We Are the Champions - Queen

Hey Ms. Adams! I get a gold star for a title & lyric combo, right? Whadya say? Huh? Huh????
I once did something similar in a live venue that others might try sometime...come to think of it, my avatar is from one of those nights.
I rounded up two other songwriters and challenged a handful of poets. The rules:
1. All original work was encouraged but not required.
2. A poet would read a poem. A songwriter would then have to sing a song that was somehow related. The songwriter would then get to sing another song that a poet would have to match and then follow with another poem etc...
We called it a "Poetry-Music Challenge" and it was a hoot for about three weeks before the Poets self-immolated in a private battle over punctuation.
Back to the regularly scheduled game, and vamping offa Joe's "Rainy":..& no, I'm not fishing for another star:-)
In the Early Morning Rain...Gordon Lightfoot.

IT's OK on the leapfrogging, it'll happen from time to time just due to the nature of board posting - that's why I'm asking to quote the title/artist of your associated reply Now.. Love Me Tender - Elvis Presley
Bartender And The Thief by The Stereophonics OK Nigel, either I am loopy or ..... help me out here I don't see the association. If it's lyrical please post the lyric associated or whatever the association is you're going for here? cos I am blind here I don't get it.
Or did you WANT one of these?? LOL LOL!!!! (I don't know the song... help me out here! come back and defend your song choice!) hehe Linda
