{True Story, fresh from the St. Pete Times...}

Cops Were Shakin' Heads, In Sun City
The Center'd Had a Suicide...
But it Wasn't Un-Common for an 86-Year-Old
To Show He'd Had-Enough of Life...

Seems Alan Dunn was Detested By His Neighbors
& 2 Stepdaughters He had Abused
That Big Freezer Chest on His Front Porch
Gave Cops Their Biggest Clue..(It Was..)

(CHORUS)
FREEZER BURN..
Big Case of FREEZER BURN
He Mighta Been An OLD DOG
But..He Sure LEARNED
ENOUGH..About FREEZER BURN!

Now Alan Told All of His Family
His Wife Was in A Rest Home
& They & All The Neighbors
Were SURE That Was WHY She's-Gone...

Seems She was Gone-a-DECADE
& Nobody Visited-Much..Later
So He Collected ALL Her Checks
While She Cooled-It in The 'Frigerator..(With a Case of)

(CHORUS)
FREEZER BURN
BAD Case of FREEZER BURN
He Might've Been an Old Dog
(Also..A Bit of A Worm)
Concerning That FREEZER BURN!

(BRIDGE)
Alan & Wife had had Several Kids
Were "Married Fifty Years" (tho Ten Were in The Fridge)
NOBODY Wanted to Visit Him Much
'Cuz He was Known for His Creepy-Touch...

(CODA)
Did He Do It for Love?
Was It All-About-SEX?
No, He Did It To Collect Her Benefit Checks
They Think She Died of Natural Causes
& Al Took-Advantage to Cover His Losses..

(With)
FREEZER BURN
Why Spend a BUNDLE on Cremation & Urns?
He Lived Pretty-WELL, Even Though He Was Spurned
THANKS to That FREEZER BURN---

(TAG){SPOKEN:}
DID Hear-Tell Alan's ended-up where it's REALLY HOT..Though..with NO ELECTRICITY...
{SUNG}
& The DEVIL got the Last Word IN, Where All's-Concerned..
Concernin' That FREEZER BURN!

Stan, this one kinda leaves me speechless. I suppose it is a true story and somewhat morbid, but sometimes, it helps to write about bizarre happenings, to just get it out of ones head.

You never cease to surprize me with the ideas you come up with for songs...a vivid imagination

smile

HiDee Mz Kim!

whew..25 "Peekers" & you're the First One Brave-Enough to Comment..heh~! (Big Thanks, M'ladyChum!)

Yeah, regretably, it's All True..tho they're still thawin' her out to see IF it was Natural Causes. She did have advanced Alzheimer's/I'm HOPING it wasn't a murder/so far nobody knows/he DID pummel a UPS Guy who didn't deliver ALL his expected packages once..in the past/WAS a violent sort..from what I've read.

So..I figured he Deserved a "Lizzie Bordon" kinda song & had my Usual Fun penning an Eyebrow-Raiser. Feels like a Rock Number to me...& would certainly re-awake an Audience after a Sweet Love Song or two in-performance. (It does show some Creativity on his devising Yet-Another Way to Beat The System...) & No, I'm not in-favor of Anyone Doing It..Ever. Hopefully they Both rest in peace now...but...his Evilness Lives On.

And I just wasn't in the mood to do Yet Another Love Song..again.
Big Thanks for Your Kind Visit, M'LadyChum, It's Appreciated!

Best Wishes & a Big Mid-Sunday Hug,
Stan

HiDee Mz Dottie!

Nah, the Schmuck sure doesn't deserve a Movie..yet he DID make Page One, under-the-fold, the other day. And..if just ONE Battered Wife takes-note...maybe a life might get saved. The guy sounds a bit like "Earl" on-Steroids. A rather ingenious Bastard...& yep, they're-out-there.

Waal..I've done all the yardwork at the Retirement Hacienda...Off to work some more at The Pink Place..& I'm on-deadline for the retired General's Clock--put in 5 solid days restoring a hundred-yr-old German Westminster Chime clock (along with Celebrating La Femme's Birthday yesterday)..which reminds me, Bobbie Gallup just celebrated Another a day ago..or tomorrow...I got such a rotten memory! So..heh-heh..I'll start Another Thread before Liftoff!

Thanks for Your Kind Visite, Kind LadyChum! Happy Sunday Backatcha, & Big Hugs too,
Stan

Stan The Man--

Sometimes the UNBELIEVABLE IS BELIEVABLE--Lots of old mountain tales run in this stream of thought--sometimes they never get caught--Social Security has a lot of FRAUD, a little is uncovered at a time--I guess you saw where a 40 year old built himself a crib (DISABLED) and then had mama on TV FEEDING HIM WITH A BOTTLE IN THAT BIG CRIBB--She had Amberbach in the BOTTLE WITH A NIPPLE--WELL!

You just never know, do you?

HiDee TennesseeBro, & Thanks for da Visite!

No, I've not heard of that Amberbock Baby, but he does sound like he knows his beers..heh-heh! (I've not had one meself since January--went cold-turkey on beer...just wine now, & 2 glasses or less a day.)

I keep reading of these Doctors themselves scamming Medicare...for Millions. & near-weekly it makes the papers, too! But..they're not as-ingenious as this cat was, JMO. Phantom Patients..Prescriptions that were bogus/operations for no good reason...or no reason at all.

Of course, ya Jail all these Rodents, it's gonna cost us millions to feed-&-house them, too. The taxpayer never gets a break...

At least the taxpayers got a sorta Break in this one..no need for a trial..or incarceration..it's in-essence Over-With from the Beginning-Discovery.

La Femme told me mid-week about some elderly Gal Recluse who died leaving behind a fortune in the Billions. Only folks she communicated-with last-couple-Decades were an Attorney & (I forget). The Fuzz are now checking into those 2, since nobody seems to know WHAT exactly she WAS worth..&..heh..Where It All WENT.

Thanks Again for Your Kind Visit, Amigo...& get ready for Fresh Song Fodder in the next Newspaper!

Best Wishes & a Big Happy Memorial Day Guy-Hug,
Stan

G'Mornin' Mz G, hope Your News continues gettin' Better & Better!

Waal..lemmie try to remember..."The Other White Meat"..sweet potatoes/corn-off-the-cob (Leftovers..heh!), Homemade Gravy (almost spilled it all-over since the hole in the Gravy Boat is small/finger sticks in it)..& Tossed Salad w/Vinaigrette Dressing (Since my favorite Blue Cheese is a dietary No-No Nowadaze.)

& my fave Pineapple Sherbert for desert. (I'm about a Million Sit-Ups Behind what I need to do for my Beer Gut...heh!)

Thanks for Peekin'-In on this Weird One, M'LadyChum! Hope you're having a Memorable Memorial Day & all's Well or Gettin' There! (I'm off to cut some more branches off the dead trees..WAY-behind in that category, but we got "a day 'off'" to deal with it!)

Best Wishes & Big Hugs/Wee Forehead-Smooch Backatcha,,

This story is as unbelievable as was "Silence of the Lambs", and that one was true also. Must have been a pretty big freezer to be able to fit all of them into. The opposite of the Holocaust atrocities, but they qualify all the same.

Peace,

HiDee Brother Herbie...& Hey, I'm Honored & Thrilled!!!

I'll mention my son Chris & his partner, Nick, are a-headin' to Chi-Town to live & work next month. Nick used to head Atlanta's Creative Loafing Graphics Dep't/Chris's working in a Bank Job he just switched-to..that gets him LOTS of Traveling, so he's just switching offices & cities. (Chris used to play an award-winning Upright Bass..back in HS...still has it, but it's Just a-sitting.)

They've been in Atlanta the last Decade (& got NO IDEA about how cold Your Winters Are..is my guess.) ;-)> Cold Winters..Warm Wonnaful People..that's My Impression! (Great Antiques, too!)

Gotta Scoot..Thanks Again for Your Kind Visit, Amigo!

HiDee Bro Brian!

Naw, it was just a Normal Size Freezer, with The Wife in a Fetal Position. I saw SOTL..good movie, one of Anthony Hopkins' best-ever.

THIS particular ol' coot wasn't crazy...unless ya count Crazy Like-a-Fox in the parameters. Besides gettin'-away with a decade-worth of undeserved Social Security & Disability Benefit Checks, he may also have gotten-away with Murder.

But guess we're in HIS Debt for taking himself out, saving the cops & taxpayers all sorts of Overtime Payments.

Real Life is SO much stranger than anything we can dream-up...JMO.

Thanks for Your Kind Visit, Amigo! (I'm way behind return-critiquing...have to get back to the shop/tryna build up a "cushion" when VA whacks-down my check.) (No Freezer Necessary..heh..I got a LOT of Repairs stacked-up!)

Hey, Mighty Kind of ya, Northern Amigo! I'll email Chris tonight...&...his email addy's Goody1385@hotmail.com...sayeth La Femme, who remembers all these things.

Last time I was in Chicago was Winter of 1973...visitin' Ed Gilreath (An Army Buddy I'd met flea-marketing in Brussels. Married to a gorgeous Blonde Gal..Sharon...who eventually ran off with Lead Singer of The Wright Bros.) She was Secretary for Seamonds Modelling Agency/Owner ran it into the ground. Always wondered How She Made Out... Ed's still working in Marketing..somewhere there/remarried nice gal named Katy/we lost touch years ago..ro my regret.

Still got those fun bars with floors covered in peanut shells? WISH we had us some of those Down Here..heh!

Thanks Again, Amigo!

Best Wishes & 'Nuther Big Guy-Hug,
Stan

PS HERBIE: Last Digit in Son's Email Addy's a THREE..Not a FIVE. Found out this AM...when I was emailing him. (& of course, Hotmail COULDN'T get the email sent on...Geeze I HATE all this Wonderful Electonic Crapola that's replaced licking stamps "forever".)

HiDee Mz KaleyGal..Good to see Ya Back-Again! (My good chum, Tampa Trib Columnist, Steve Otto..is currently suffering from Shingles-on-his-Face..Hope all yours if behind ya now...must be extremely Hellish!) (It obviously strikes mostly Only Good People!)

Sun City Center is Del Webb's East Coast Retirement Center..other one's bigger, in Arizona..& it's called just "Sun City". Web came up with the concept of marketing Homesites to Retirement-Age people...(No kids are allowed to LIVE in them/No Schools need be built/taxes are kept LOW...etc.) He's no longer breathing, neither are his Original Buyers...but the concept worked very Well Indeedy!

Sun City Center's about a 45 minute drive due-South. (Most of their Police Force is Old-Folks Volunteers..so it's easy to see how they'd overlook the Freezer for quite some time.)

Our Current Tampa Local "Scandal": Folks who hide their car tags as they zoom-through the automated Toll Booths on the Selmon Expressway..rather'n pay the Buck-fifty when the bill gets mailed to them. (Fine's $200 for so-doing/camera records the rear of your car anyways..so SOME of these cheapskates are gonna get caught-up-with.) Four of 'em's Pics made the Front Page in St Pete Times yesterday...

& that Baby-Killin' Mama..that trial's on ALL the Media nowadaze..so yep, Our State's chock-fulla Criminal Minds (Prolly Exposure to Sun alla time..I dunno!)

Yeah, I'm still penning-away/prayin' away for Musical Co-writers, & enjoying our 90-degree all-weekend Sunny Weather here. I've put BOTH clock shop houses up-for-sale/will be officially "retired" when the dust settles, but keep fixing timepieces in our garage..& headin' out on Housecalls. Can no longer afford the $8K a year those 2 houses cost me in Property Taxes...so it's time to scrunch back into the one that currently only costs us $4K.

Might shed that'n' too..if Panama looks like a better Long-Term Bet. (But first, we gotta Vacation There...Sigh!)

Gotta Feed the Birdies & Scoot off to Yet Another Fun-Filled Clock Fixing Day! GREAT to see You're Back..(Give Mz Bobbie a wee nudge, too...if ya got her phone number!)

Best Wishes & Big Welcoming Hugs,
Stan
