Thinking back on yesterday instead of trying to explain to someone why it took me so long to finish a certain song due to the guitar track and why I'm NEVER satisfied, I should have just showed her this list of guitarists I have seen live in my life lol Who do you remember seeing live, I have REALLY been treated, I have seen some doozy's the best. The first one I ever saw was Steve Howe the rest is not in order. I've seen more but these were all really worth mentioning to me when I saw them. Steve Howe 3x Larry Carlton 2x George Benson 3x - My favorite Lee Rittenour 2x and met him once Jimmy Page 3x - My favorite Eric Clapton 3x Joe Pass 1x Steve Morse 2x Al Dimeola 3x met him once and bought him a pizza Pat Metheney 1x John McCloughlin 1x Carlos Santa 3x Brian May 1x David Gilmore 1x Stanley Jordan 1x Paco De lucia 1x Mike Stern 1x Martin Barre 1x Neil Schon 1x Pete Townshend 3x Jeff Beck 1x Robert Fripp 1x Adrien Blew 1x Peter Frampton 1x Joe Perry 1x Keith Richards 1x Alan Holdsworth 1x Ritchie Blackmore 1x Dickie Betts 1x Hughie Thompson 1x Ted Nugent 1x Can't think of the others right now. Some Who I would love to see or would have loved to seen. Chet Atkins Segovia Jimi Hendrix Robin Trower - Could have recently but couldn't. Wes Montgomery BB King just because it's BB King Robert Johnson Hank Garland Django And on an on Who have you seen live?

I haven't been to enough concerts in my life, but am satisfied with what I have seen. I have seen most of my guitar heroes who I will name, but I'm afraid that they aren't of the commercial nature. I'll start with the commercial guitarists and work my way down.
Steve Howe Jimmy Page(for 15 minutes), the Zeppelin show was rained out due to a bad thunderstorm. David Gilmour- Animals/Pink Floyd Johnny Winter Rick Derringer Dicky Betts/Allman Bros. Alvin Lee/Ten Years After Frank Zappa
Lesser Known:
Doc Watson/3 times, once with the late Merle Watson Norman Blake Tony Rice/several times Leo Kottke
I would love to see: Chet Atkins Merle Travis BB King Robert Johnson Leadbelly Duane Allman Muddy Waters

Let me go add Dickie to the list, he was FABULOUS.

Mike if I'd seen half of the guys on your list I would have stopped playing by now. There are only two guys that I've seen who would fall into the guitar hero slot:
Joe Satriani x3 Steve Vai x2
This was a good few years ago when all I wanted to do was to be able to play like these two guys. But once I got into playing acoustic my taste changed a lot but I can still shred with the best of them.
Work for hire Producer. I will also produce and master any old/new work tapes up to demo standards. :-) Just PM or email: Email -- mork1976@gmail.com

Subjective topic. Good is opinion and opinion is based on surroundings and what mind altering chemicals you have recently put into your body while listening. I’ve been to some great concerts only to be surprised and disappointed when I heard a playback the following day. But all that being said:
• Mark Farner: Yeah you know I had to mention him • Jimi Page 2X • Jim Lea (Slade) 3 X • Keith Ayers (Club Phred) • George Harrison • Eric Clapton • Tony Iommi 3X Black Sabbath • Jeff Beck • Randy Rhoads 2X (Quiet Riot and Ozzy) • Eddie VanHalen • Mike Caro • Chuck Berry • Brian Setzer 2X (Stray Cats and Orchestra) • Alvin Lee (Ten Years After) • Steven Stills 3X

I don’t remember anyone saying anything about ‘good’ – it’s just who you have seen. I've seen Slade a couple of times but JL was on bass both times. A couple more after reading the other lists: Andy Summers (x2 1980 & 2007) Richard Thompson (numerous)

Not a list -- no time -- but I did get to hear, meet, and talk to Chet Atkins. Well, mostly he talked and I listened. For the most part it was about producing Elvis and Roger Whitaker. (sp?) It was at Christopher Parkening's house. A real evening to remember a looong time ago.
Also, Bonnie Raitt once asked me to go dancing, but that story isn't as interesting as it might seem.

I'm going to see Clapton in a couple weeks. Boy, I hope he brings Derek Trucks! Probably not in Denmark, though. Still, looking forward to that, allthough I'm not that big on huge venues. I like small intimate concerts better, even with lesser known players. There are a billion guys round the world that are killer on their guitars, so great is not that hard to come by, even locally!
I've been to some workshops with Mike Stern, though. And one with John Abercrombie. One of the best promotion shows I've seen lately was the Aussie Tommy Emmanuel, whoo hoo! I think he released an album with Chet Atkins some years ago.
I would really love to see Brad Paisley, Bill Frisell and Ry Cooder, though.

I guess that I got something of a private lesson from Steve Morse.
Ran into him walking the floor of a NAMM show when I was 16, confessed my fandom, and he told me, "Come on and take a walk with me!"
Showed me a couple of little things once we got over the the Ernie Ball booth, and gave me some little bits of advice. One of the very nicest people that I have ever met. So generous with his time and just plain... NICE.
Never had the chance to see him play on-stage, but that little 5-minute private lesson was still pretty damn cool. And, more than 20 years later, I still cannot do a lot of the things that he showed me!

Here is a quick list of what I can remember off-hand:
Ron Wood I originally read that one as: ROY Wood. Who is one that I really hope that I can see one day. Although, I don't know how much chance there is of that happening.

Willie Nelson Emmylou Harris Kenny Vaughan Marty Stuart Glen Campbell Jamie Moses Brian May Janick Gers Dave Murray Adrian Smith Richard Kruspe Paul Landers Phil Kaye (comedian who is also a musician) Ed Tudor-Pole James Hunter Rachal Harrington (can't remember her partner's name) Jon Randall John Wheeler (also on fiddle) Dale Reno (also on mandolin)
Some of the guitarists I've mentioned come from the same band (Richard and Paul are in Rammstein, and Janick, Dave, and Adrian, are in Iron Maiden)
