Based on psalm 23 verse 4. All comments welcome
As I walk, through the valley, of the shadow of death, I'll not fear my soul as I draw my last breath. My lamp I'll not hide with you by my side taking comfort from your guiding hand on my head as I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.
As I walk, through the valley, of fields so green, I'll recount to my brothers of the glory I've seen. The pain and the loss as they fought for the cross In the stories of old and the men there have been As I walk, through the valley, of fields so green,
As I walk, through the valley, past waters so still, I'll talk of my love stay with you until, his staff guides me through before leading me to, my life at his table, 'til I've had my fill, As I walk, through the valley, past waters so still.

Hi Gary,
I can’t comment on the content, I’ll leave that for others…but I have to say that I really liked that piano interlude there. It comes in later on…I guess it’s the bridge? It’d be nice to hear some of it sooner too somehow…maybe in the intro? Not sure…just wanted to let you know that was my thought as I listened. I enjoyed the melody too.

A difficult one to put to music but you did a good job, really like the strings on this, the violin sounds great, vocals are heavy on the left channel you might want to fix that, real nice,
Tony.

Thanks Kristi.... I'm more of a writer than a musician and I am intruiged why you can't comment on the content I'm not a religious person, I just find a lot of strength in that psalm verse. I was also inspired to write it after listening to The American recordings by Johnny Cash.....the emotion he puts across in some of those songs...just so powerful. Thanks again for listening Gary

Thanks Tony. The music generally comes to me as Im writing. The problem I have is getting whats in my head into something I can listen to. Its a bit like sitting in a new car but not knowing how to drive . As for the recording, I'm only using what I have and I mix everything on audacity. Its a steep learning curve, but oh what a ride!! Thanks again Gary

Nice write Gary.
I like the music as well.
I would bring the vocals around to the center a bit more. Feels strange hearing you sing in only the left ear.
The music is perfect for this piece.
Well Done and pleased to meet you.

Gary,
Oh, I just don’t usually critique religious or political things as there are so many layers there and I’m not all that religious or political for that matter! lol Nice work though!

It didn't have the traditional verse/chorus lines, though there were some lyrics I liked. I did enjoy the production, but I think this is meant for a religious audience. I sort of felt like "death" surrounded the song, and even though I know that particular bible passage celebrates life, that's not the way it came across to me. Still sweet, in its own way.. Ott

Gary,
I am a Christian and think this lyric is well written. Sounds or comes across as a Country Christian Song.
Keep up the great work.
