Here's a silly little song I wrote and put together a quick demo of.. I don't normally write novelty or comedy songs but I get a kick out of Facebook and the whole social network scene. If my life was like Facebook If my life was like Facebook If my life was like Facebook I'd have so many friends Always have someone to talk to the fun would never end They'd could lol and poke me and I would not offend If my life was like Facebook I’d be a happy man When I wake up in the morning I turn on my machine I step into another world that waits upon my screen I check on Sue and Michael say hello to uncle Tom I leave a comment on someone’s wall And t11hen I water the crops for mom If my life was like Facebook I'd have so many friends Always have someone to talk to the fun would never end They'd lol and poke me and I would not offend If my life was like Facebook I’d die a happy man I can help the starving children With the click of a button In all my pictures I look so thin They’d never know I’m such a …… Don’t be afraid to friend me cause There’s always room for more Even if I don’t know who you are We'll be buds forever more If my life was like Facebook I'd have so many friends Always someone to talk to the fun would never end You could lol and poke me you know I won’t offend If my life was like Facebook I’d die a happy man Well it happened just last Tuesday My worst of fears came true The lights went out the wall went black I didn’t know what to do So I sat there in the quiet Feeling nervous and put out I closed my eyes and took a deep breath But all I could think about about Was how if my life was like Facebook I'd have so many friends Always someone there to talk to the fun would never end They'd lol and poke me and no one would offend If my life was like Facebook I’d be a happy man If my life was like Facebook I’d die a happy man Words and music by D Dalton (c) 2010

Hi Dave,
I think this is cute. One thing that jumped out at me….the idea of Facebook being a different life than the singer’s…I’m wondering if the Uncle Tom line fits then, because all the other examples are people who are in “another” world. Just a thought…
It sounds really good! A fun one!
Kristi

Good fun idea. I think a successful viral version of this would be comically closer to the rude mark and perhaps a little naughty. If you fancy doing that to it you could have a little you tube hit Otherwise good fun and cool lyrics. JD

Dave, I think this is clever. I agree with Jame's comment up above. You could probably have a you tube hit if you stretch the humor a bit!! Fun song.

I liked it a lot. Very Roger Miller like and it would be a good one to send to Ray Stevens.

Like this, a fun tune, I agree with the video idea, it could take off big time,
