So here is the video version. Sorry about the fuzziness of some of the pictures. Any suggestions as to how to get better pictures? Once again, you get better sound with headphones, no surprise. I can barely hear the bass through the computer. At the end of the vid is a shameless plug for two of my kids. One writes books (internet publishing only) and they are really quite good. Here is the web site for "The Legend of Ivan." (A heck of a story! Where does he come up with these ideas?) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...IKX0DER&pf_rd_r=06KP27NF6VT40GE91Z7Y The other does modular origami (Do you know what origami means? It means "folded paper," duh on me for not figuring that out)! Have a look (double click them to make them bigger) at: http://modularorigamiart.wordpress.com/portfolio/He is also writing a book. rob k http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq5z67J8z0kBased on a joke I heard years ago! rob k HiFi http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=8598560&q=hi&newref=1LoFi http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=8598560&q=lo&newref=1The Pirate Long ago there was a pirate from a rough motley band; Had a peg leg, had an eye patch, had a hook for a hand. Sure and one day some one asked him how he lost all his parts. Well he heaved a great sigh and then this story he starts. “We attacked a Spanish galleon on a dark, moonless night. I was climbin' up a grapple to get into the fight. Someone reached out from a port hole and he hacked off me leg. But they patched me up right smart and they gave me this peg. That’s how I lost it. I think they tossed it Over the side and into the sea. I didn’t mind it, but if you find it, Do me a favor, just let it be. Well, the next one was a merchant on a cold blustery day. I was climbin' up a grapple to get into the fray. Someone reached out from a port hole and me left hand he took. But they patched me right smart and they gave me this hook. That’s how I lost it. I think they tossed it Over the side and into the sea. I didn’t mind it, but if you find it, Do me a favor, just let it be.” “First a leg and then a hand, arrr. Curse the luck1” said the crew. “But to also loose and eye, man, well we curse that luck too! How’d you loose it? In a battle? In a terrible gale?” Well, the pirate he glowered then went on with his tale. “I was lying on the fore deck tryin' to catch me some sun, When a sea gull drifted over and his business he done. I was happening to look up then, having heard his loud cry. And the load he was dropping hit me square in the eye.” “Kinda gross now,” said the boson. “but it ain’t all that bad. And it’s surely ain’t enough to make you lose your eye lad.” “Oh ya think so?” roared the pirate, “It’s enough, yes, and more If you just got your hook done on the evening before. That’s how I lost me leg and that’s how I got this hook ‘n if you hear sea gulls callin’ Mark my word, don’t you look!” © 2009 Tip- As with all the songs posted here, you can hear more bass with earphones or better speakers.

ROB!!
OH, thank you for the laugh!! HOW FUNNY and a great sing with nice "PIRATE" pronunciation!! It was fun to sing along and a comedy song should be that way!!
This makes me think of a Monty Python type song and it is so visual, I would love for someone to make a little movie to go along with this...
Thank you, to bring laughter to folks is a wonderful gift and you did a great job!!

Rob: The biggest compliment I can pay you on this tune is that it took absolutely no effort to listen to. It was well written, it was well sung, it was well arranged. I felt like a kid hearing a bedtime story, as to "what comes next?",and you delivered with each verse and chorus. This was truly wonderfully done, and my pirate hat is off to you!!!! Ott

Rob, This was fantastic! It's really funny and a very enjoyable listen. I loved it! The melody and vocal work very well with the lyrics. Extremely well-written and sung.
