http://www.songramp.com/mod/mps/viewtrack.php?trackid=83865Another by my wife and I - "Heart and Hammer" The song is all Julie's invention - I just get to play now and then... Wyoming Skies © 2010 Julianna Waters Little ghost what do you see In the fragments of your memory Trailer cities on cinder blocks Cracker boxes with flimsy locks Eight years old with her pony tail Playin’ chicken on the wind as it twirls and sails Playin’ horses jump rope in her teeth Trailer kids are geniuses pretending on the cheap In those wide, Wyoming Skies Phantoms of the past are watching with their sad, dark eyes They’re watching They’re watching Little ghost tell me what you know Of that cold, hard place built on dust and snow Were those families livin’ out of bounds Unwashed kids and unkept hounds Eight years old in a single wide Bunkbeds for the sisters with a pocket door that slides Playin’ horses jump rope in her teeth Trailer kids are geniuses pretending on the cheap In those wide, Wyoming Skies Phantoms of the past are watching with their sad, dark eyes They’re watching They’re watching Eight years old with her pony tail Playin’ chicken on the wind as it twirls and sails Playin’ horses jump rope in her teeth Trailer kids are geniuses pretending on the cheap In those wide, Wyoming Skies Phantoms of the past are watching with their sad, dark eyes They’re watching They’re watching They’re watching They’re watching

Barry and Julianna,
This is amazing, what a pleasure it is to listen to your music, I like everything about it and am sad I can't see you perform.

Hi Barry & Julianna, Where have you been hiding this woman, Barry? This has a great feel to it. The music is perfect and so well played. The visuals are so vivid, I think I've got some Wyoming dust in my eyes. Just wonderful. Glad to have you back in circulation. Ricki

Well, isn't this just a wonderful little tune? The lyrics are a good read, the instrumentation super and the vocals great. No complaints here from this side of the mississippi.

Hi Barry and Julie,
I must say as I was reading through the lyric I was confused on some certain parts and their meaning, but after listening to the performance I came to really appreciate the song. I think it has lots of potential. This is a song I would love to see submitted in Harriet's Mentor Critique forum... There are so many good things I think we could learn from a piece like this:) Thanks for sharing this with us!-Dana

By your posting for your wife shows love! Attaboy!
What a gorgeous folksy song. I love the lyrics and the tone of Juliana's voice is perfect for this song!
I am glad this is my first song of the day! What a great start!

Thanks Tammy, Ricki, Kevin, Dana, Stan. I really appreciate your comments and, yeah Stan - I really want her music heard and, since we perform both of our respective songs together, I get to take liberties to make sure her songs don't just languish in NW Oregon. Best, Barry http://www.reverbnation.com/heartandhammer

Boy could I relate to this. I was this kid, but I lived in Montana. I really like the music, Julie's voice, and that mando. Of course, I can hear your superb guitar playing too, Barry. Beautiful song..

Thanks a lot DeAnna and Glynda. I appreciate the comments.
Wendy! Good to hear from you - and nice to know you could relate to this. Julie came from an oil-related employment family that took them to Gillette, Wyoming for a while.
Thanks much for having a listen. bc

Very pleasent to sit back and listen to. Nicely done. How come it is not called, "They're Watching"? That hook seems stronger then the one you choose AND it is more prevelant? Just a thought. Douglas
