I am interested in starting a songwriters group.
Nothing big, no huge organization, just a few folks who like to write songs and get together with other songwriters to work on their songs and improve their songwriting and musicianship skills.
I have lived in the Nashville area for 4 months and have not met a lot of songwriters yet. One reason is I don't play out. I do like to go to Open Mic nights tho.

10 or 12 people would be good. More would be ok but I think it is more difficult to do with a larger group. Not enough time can be devoted to individual songs.

I would propose meeting at least once a month but I would prefer weekly get togethers.

I live about twenty five minutes from Down town Nashville in the Joelton area. Off Clarksville Pike. My house is big enough to accommodate the group.
I have multitrack recording capabilities.
I do have a set of drums. Nothing fancy but they get it done.
I have acoustic and electric guitars and bass.
Jam sessions would be a welcome addition. I think folks can learn a lot just playing with other folks.

My own level of experience is I can play Guitar. Not a pro but not a beginner.
I write lyrics. Mostly Country (whatever that is these days).

While I do write for myself I would like to write commercially.

If you are interested send me a PM.

Thanks
Bill

Yeah, I know what you mean Glyn. I've been having the same problem with my yacht. And all I wanted was your basic purple. You'd think they'd have those in stock. grin

I haven't had much luck yet. I will let you know if I do.

Have you been to Doak Turner's third Sunday open house.

It is a good place to meet and network with folks.
BTW if you watch the video that's me sitting on the couch at 1 minute 23 seconds. Marc Burnette is right after that.

Hi Kurt.
Not much, LOL
That may be my fault tho. This last few months have been a little rough.
But the project room is done. Not a big fancy studio but it'll do.

I am ready anytime anyone is interested.

Ohhh I don't think so Mark smile
I've been to Doak's a few times and I can't even imagine that. A Hundred or so people hanging around might be a bit much.
Doak's is a great place to network. Hit writers and novices sit together in the same room. What could be better than that?

I'm just looking for a small group to write and learn together. Then take what we learn to Doak's smile

Just wondering what is the update on your group. I am a new country lyricist in Canada...still looking for co-writers.

You should post what's going on since the posting.
