verse-
Great sadness brings me bitter pills, as I swallow and then wallow in thier overkill.
Verse-
With so much more I could have done so much left I've yet begun, songs that never will be sung, hearts I'd cherished never won.
Verse-
Kisses that I failed to share, dreams I just left lying there, hopes abandoned everywhere, leave me haunted with despair....
Chorus-
If only I could trade the years, I have left to face my fears, I'd go back to each place in time, to sieze those moments left behind. To dance with possibilties, I once swore could never be, a visionary unappeased... all my lost dreams....reality.
verse-
We only get four score and ten, to wander paths that twist and bend, until at last we reach the end, to find that "life" was our best friend.
Verse-
Perhaps upon the other side, all of our longings left denied, are waiting there to be realized, on Heavens shores uncompromised.
Chorus-
My time on earth is shorter then, all of my failings way back when, I guess acceptance is the key forgiving all I could not be. All of my years that still remain, are better left not spent in pain, there is so much I still can do, till my soul sails beyond these blues...

Quite Poetic, somewhat on the Sad, Wistful Side...
Verse 4's a Gem..V5's perhaps too-optimistic...for this Pessimist, anyways..heh...& I like & agree with Your Conclusion, Amigo!
That ol' saw, "With Age, Comes Wisdom" fails to mention that Depression's often a Byproduct.
..but..I've found Penning Songs seems to take the edge off it~
Nicely Done & Dealt-With, Bro MFB3..Good Luck with it~! Best Wishes & a Big Guy-Hug, Stan

"When will we all, as artists, creators and facilitators learn that the so-called experts in our lives are nothing more than someone who has stepped forward and called themselves an expert?" –Brian Austin Whitney
