WOW. You have tackled a sticky subject well. It is a message that needs to be told. Maybe then--healing can begin. I think lyrics and music like this can help a person rise above the pain and break the cycle of child abuse. Love does cover a multitude of sins.

Thank you so much for taking the time to listen. I agree with your sentiment and I believe that we must get the word out somehow and music seems to be the best way I know. Thank you for your support. Listen to They Wonder, I think you will enjoy that as well. All my best to you and yours and keep warm. Frank Here is the Lyric “Don’t Cry”
I walked away You walked away There was nothing more that we could say
We didn’t hold on And try to make it work To get past the pain Of all the senseless hurt
And we just couldn’t see Beyond the pain That caused us both to disagree
And I’d have never made the bet That both of us Would start to feel this much regret
Chorus: Don’t cry Don’t you cry Cause we don’t have to say goodbye
Don’t cry Don’t you cry Cause we don’t have to say goodbye
I lied, you lied Told each other Everything was alright
Didn’t know just what we had And since we’ve been apart Life has been so sad
But in our hearts and minds we see You and I were always meant to be
Chorus: So don’t cry Don’t you cry Cause we don’t have to say goodbye
Don’t cry Don’t you cry Cause we don’t have to say goodbye
Break: This time we’ll make our feelings clear This time we’re both gonna share What’s in our hearts and what’s in our minds And I know we’ll come to find
That this love Was meant to be In this world There’s only you for me And we will never Walk away again From now until forever we’ll be lovers And the best of friends
So Don't cry No don't you shed a tear Cause I'm the one who's always gonna be here
So Don't cry Don't you ever fear Cause I'm the one who's always gonna be here
So don't cry No don't you cry Cause we don't have to say goodbye
Repeat until End:

Here are the lyrics to Daddy. Sorry I sent the Lyrics to Don't Cry by mistake. All the best to you. Frank
“Daddy I Love You”
Daddy’s late in coming home again And mama’s alone in her bedroom sittin on her bed She used to yell and carry on And wish my daddy dead Then she’d hang her head And the tears start to shed
In the early morning hours Daddy stumbled in And when he came through those doors He was nobody’s friend
And what the hell Did the back of his hand Have to do with becoming a man?
It’s taken all these years To finally understand
Chorus: I need to hear him say Daddy’s not the same today And that he’s found He’s found a better way
And if he did I’d forgive him and say Daddy I love you Daddy I love you
When I was a little boy I lived my days in fear Of daddy’s anger After one too many beers
He’d rip the phones from the walls Punched holes through all the doors And then my daddy Knocked me senseless to the floor
Chorus: And I need to hear him say I’m sorry that I caused you pain And that he wished He could make it all go away
And if he did I’d forgive him and say Daddy I love you Daddy I love you
Daddy up and left When I was still a little kid And I don’t know if he ever thinks About his many sins
But, if he called tomorrow And said I’m sorry for the things I did I’d say I love you And daddy I forgive
Repeat Chorus Until End

Frank, Wow, really powerful song, great lyrics. I really thought it was well done. A couple of the cartoon pictures decreased the powerful vibe you have going there. Sort of got pulled in by the photos and then lost it at some of the cartoons - don't know why but just noticed that as I was watching. Nice job

Thank you Tracy, I think I did that to take the edge of a very difficult song. Probably wasn't the best Idea, but I'm glad you liked it. All My life I have to put laughter into things where I'm uncomfortable talking about it. Maybe I'll edit it to let people feel without the break by a cartoon. Thank you so much for the commentary. Frank
