A classic tune written by THE Willie Dixon in 1954, Steppenwolf covered this tune in 1968. I demonstrate Gustav Moreve's great bassline on both my '69 P with flats and a Darryl Jones Lakland J with Fender rounds. The comparison is interesting. http://www.youtube.com/user/solowbass#p/u/0/6HFhh0SDNNIUse headphones, as usual.

Hi Andy,
I'm glad you onboard. I look at these demos as foder for bass players. We ALL know the tunes... my "Steppenwolf" lp is over 40yrs. old, and sounds it. I want my collegueses to hear MY playing, my sound OVER the tunes. You can hear the good and the bad. So, I don't play loud, I keep the tune as low as I feel secure playing with it.

Excellent, Paul. I like what you said about tone and volume. Just last Saturday I played a blues show. While I was setting up and soundchecking, the artist told me I was too loud (and I was the only one playing ). By the end of the first set, I was much louder. The artist loved it. As my old buddy, a great drummer, the late Tom "The Hitman" Cerone used to say: "Nobody ever danced to a lead guitar." Keep it up. BTW, I liked your '69 P better.
You've got to know your limitations. I don't know what your limitations are. I found out what mine were when I was twelve. I found out that there weren't too many limitations, if I did it my way. -Johnny Cash It's only music. -niteshift Mike Dunbar Music
