Folks, Kindly visit me, at www.reverbnation.com/raesoulman, whenever you can, and listen to my songs. That button you click would push me up that chart… Raymond

I thought this was going to be a post about www.reverbnation.com and it's benefits/etc. I, for one, have generally liked it, though I seem to have exceeded my capacity on Widget Hits, so they no longer add to my score. Whatever that all means, I have no idea! But, I now have .71 in their bank, earned over the last 18 months. At this rate, I should be able to collect my first $10 check by the year 2025. WooHoo!!!! Merry Christmas! Jeff www.reverbnation/javamusik

I don't get it with reverbnation. I put two songs in their store when I joined but haven't been able to place any since. I just get that whirly thing that says loading. One day I left it loading for 35 minutes. Gave up now. Vic

What is reverb nation? I've seen a few people using it. Is it like, the new Soundclick or something? Personally, I'm into the simplicity of sounclick. It serves its purpose just fine. Why should I, or anyone for that matter, switch? Or have an additional page? If I want more people to hear my music, I play it for them and then if they like what they hear, I'll tell them about a page. I think, unless there are added benefits, I'll just keep the soundclick going.
I have music for all of my songs and they vary from rock to country to folk and everywhere in between. (except rap)

LOL! Jeff, for me it's about getting more and more people to listen to my songs, and maybe 2,3, or more A&R people will listen. If that happened, I'd hope to be comfortably retired, byt that 2025..:-)))

There is 2 things I like about www.reverbnation.com over www.soundclick.com.First, and this is a BIG one - with a free account at soundclick, you are forced to weather mind-numbing banner ads all over your page. Not very professional, when you send people or potential clients to a page to preview your music. There is none of that at reverbnation. Second, and this doesn't affect me so much because I don't offer free downloads - but... Free accounts at soundclick only allow your mp3's to be loaded at 128 kbps. I believe reverbnation allows better quality mp3's on their free accounts. For whatever it's worth, I have occasionally sold mp3's at soundclick, but not enough to collect my first royalty check from them. That focus is covered by my iTunes account. Cheers! And that starts a whole nother batch of questions for me? How do I get people to pay for downloads if they'd want to and how do you set up i-tunes and how do you...everything! The web is overwhelming for an ex 4-track recorder. And I don't get a lot of banners at Soundclick. At least i don't notice any. None auto-start or anything.

Reverbnation offers the iTunes deal, but - you're way better off getting set up with www.cdbaby.com. Send them 5 hard copies of your cd's. Pay them the 35 dollar setup fee and tell them you want an iTunes account set up along with all the other paid download options. They'll do it all for you and your indie musician career will have taken bold steps light years forward. Don't wait another moment! Get on www.cdbaby.com NOW! http://cdbaby.com/Artist/JeffreyvanDJeff

I agree with the CD Baby props. I also like Reverbnation because it ties in well with Facebook and sets up its own music page. I have come across way more friends and fans on Reverbnation than any other site.

I just listened to all of your songs on Reverb. Nice vocals and musical arrangements. Best of luck with your music... and your retirement. Nelson

Ditto to all the props for ReverbNation.
My only beef is I am having trouble rearranging song order from upload order with my mouse like I *should* be able to.
Other than that - no ads AND it interfaces with my Facebook Page to provide my FB peeps the same player - AND my ReverbNation widget runs on my actual website - which is far more than Soundclick will ever provide.
Soundclick is great for posting an MP3 here and linking to the page of JUST that song. Otherwise.... I hate hate hate their pop-up ads which escape my blocker-ware and won't close without 3 warnings about "are you sure you want to leave this page?"
Soundclick gets more and more annoying the more I'm there.
ReverbNation has found me actual listeners who have given me honest, thoughtful, and positive opinion on my music via their messaging system.

I'm basicly on Reverbnation because I like their player. Ez to share a song link, it plays automatically, and you can upload in a decent file size (192 mp3).
The networking, and other features does nothing for me, at least not for now.

I agree with the CD Baby props. I also like Reverbnation because it ties in well with Facebook and sets up its own music page. I have come across way more friends and fans on Reverbnation than any other site. and i agree with Colin i am not a computer whiz but did manage to set up a page on reverbnation to tie into my facebook page and it has been very beneficial getting my music heard and gaining fans from all over!! I have lots more to learn, widgets?!?! idk what those are and lots to do on my page, but it is working for me ...
