Hi Folks.
Another set of lyrics
I’m not sure if it works so comments and suggestions always appreciated.
Thanks and God Bless Roy and Helen
Where God is Found © Roy Cooper 2010
The preacher told me as a child That God is always there So I looked around my world And couldn’t find him anywhere.
I went right down to the bus depot I saw a bus said Denver bound But I couldn’t find a bus there Saying going where God is found
When I became a teenager Mama’s death drove me to despair People told me God would help They said God is everywhere
So I went down to the train station Saw a train said California bound But I couldn’t find a train there Saying going where God is found
Then I got myself a husband And we had ourselves a boy Watched him grow to a fine young man He really was our pride and joy
Bridge It was a good while later when my son got killed in war I just fell down on my knees and let my feeling pour. I felt a heavenly presence drive into me like a knife It was the love of God I felt that came to bless my life
I’ve tried to think where was this God Who had hidden from me so long? Cause now I know he’s everywhere And the preacher wasn’t wrong
Tag: Now I know the answer was with me all the time Cause when I opened my heart up I let his love be mine.
When I opened my heart up I let his love be mine.

ROY,
CONSIDER MY TAKE (CAPS): JMHO/ USE OR LOSE
I LIKE THE IDEA A LOT.
Where God is Found © Roy Cooper 2010
The preacher told me as a child That God is always there So I looked around my world And couldn’t find him anywhere.
I went right down to the bus depot I saw a bus said Denver bound But I couldn’t find a bus there HEAVEN BOUND where God is found
When I became a teenager Mama’s death drove me NEAR despair People told me God would help They said God is everywhere
So I went down to the train station A train BOARDING said California bound But I couldn’t find a train there TRAVELING TO where God is found
Then I got myself a husband And we had ourselves a boy Watched him grow to a fine young man He really was our pride and joy
Bridge It was a good while later OUR son WAS killed in war I fell down TO my knees and let my feelingS pour. I felt a heavenly presence DEEP INSIDE me like a knife It was the love of God that HAD COME to bless my life
I’ve tried to think where was this God Who had hidden from me so long? I REALIZE NOW he’s everywhere And the preacher wasn’t wrong
Tag: I know the answer was with me all along I opened my heart AND HEARD GOD’S SONG AT LONG LAST I’M KNEELING AT HIS THRONE.

Where God is Found © Roy Cooper 2010 The preacher told me as a child That God is EVERY WHERE BUT WHEN I looked around my world I couldn’t find HIM THERE. SO THOUGHT I'D TRY the bus depot SAW ONE GREYHOUND, Denver bound But NO WHERE DID I FIND A BUS EN ROUTE TO where God is found When I had just turned sixteen Ma’s death drove NEAR despair >>>>>>> good idea Mackie EVERYONE SAID God would help, THAT God is everywhere So THEN I TRIED THE station Saw a train, California bound STILL couldn’t find a SINGLE train EN ROUTE TO where God is found Then I got myself a husband And we had ourselves a boy HE GREW INTO a fine young man HIS PARENTS' pride and joy Bridge BUT THEN my son got killed in war DOWN ON my knees, LETTING feelingS pour, I felt a presence FILL ME UP The love of God, HERE, SURE ENOUGH I’ve tried to think WHY HAD THIS God BEEN hidden from me so long? BUT I FOUND HIM WHEN I LOOKED INSIDE And the preacher wasn’t wrong Tag: THE answer was with me all the time I opened my heart AND FOUND HIM JUST FINE I opened my heart AND FOUND HIM JUST FINE. Hi Roy, This is actually a very sweet and innocent lyric. I like the idea a lot... hope you don't mind a few suggestion (see above)... Thank you for sharing . Beth

Good suggs already up. I like this one Roy. "Saying going"sounds to me like maybe you were trying for a gospel sound but it's a bit awkward for modern American ears.

Roy, finding God is a deep topic. The verses certainly show someone wanting comfort.
A child may go to the bus station but a teenager would not. A stabbing pain seems an inapt metaphor for the comfort of God's love.
you may have to define "everywhere" to best answer the question.
have fun, John

Hi Roy and Helen!!! Where God is Found © Roy Cooper 2010
The preacher told me as a child That God is always there So I looked around my world And couldn’t find him anywhere.
I went right down to the bus depot--this part confused me, were they still a child when they went to the bus station?--if so, maybe say when I met my grandma at the bus station or somehow make it believable that a child would be at a bus station...maybe a bus stop...like a city bus, where he is riding with his mom, and some say, south elm street, some say streets but he couldnt find one that says God.. I saw a bus said Denver bound But I couldn’t find a bus there Saying going where God is found
When I became a teenager Mama’s death drove me to despair People told me God would help They said THAT God is everywhere
So I went down to the train station Saw a train saidthat was California bound But I couldn’t find a train there Saying going where God is found--I am just not feeling the saying going where god is found..maybe say but I couldnt find a train there, that would take me to where God is found? jmho Then I got myself a husband And we had ourselves a boy Watched him grow to a fine young man He really was our pride and joy
Bridge-maybe shorten this...somehow.. for example...years later when my son didn't come home from war, I fell down on my knees, letting my heartache pour..when I felt a heavenly presence, that drove into me like a knife..thats when I knew He had been in my world every day of my life...?? It was a good while later when my son got killed in war I just fell down on my knees and let my feeling pour. I felt a heavenly presence drive into me like a knife It was the love of God I felt that came to bless my life
I’ve tried to think where was thisGod Who had hidden from me so long? Cause now I know he’s everywhere And the preacher wasn’t wrong- I would consider using this info in the bridge...and then onto the chorus then tag...
Tag: Now I know the answer was with me all the time Cause when I opened my heart up I let his love be mine.
When I opened my heart up I let his love be mine. I think the tag needs to drive the hook home...:)it is good to see you guys continuing to write. I had some suggies, keep or sweep...:) best of luck guys!! KIM

HiDee Bro Roy!
I've done my share of Searchin'...Lyrically, IdaMarie Naelitz's co- on "Yeah, God's Like That" was the closest I ever came to scoring a "Bulls-Eye" on this Subject.
Here, for me, it was a bit of a turn-off that the Narrator only seemed to find God when somebody died. For me..just ONE look at a Star-Filled Night Sky always Did-The-Trick...but, I digress.
Here come some Line Sugs...KOS of course!
"Then I went & got MARRIED" (So this Song can be Sung by Either Gender.) "A good while later OUR son got killed in war" (Same reason as earlier line.)
"Bent my knees, fell down, & let my feelings pour" eliminates that "just" that's filler...
"Then a heavenly presence flew through me like a knife" might ease the Harpoony-Touch from this line...I dunno...here's-hopin'!
All-in-All, pretty good write on THAT particular Angle of one's Finding The Deity.
Good Luck with it, Amigo...& yep, the Above's all KOS!
Best Wishes & a Big Guy (& Helen) Hug Backatchas, Stan
