One Online winner/finalist: "The Victorious Secrets". (Congrats! great sounding band). Here's their video: http://freecreditscoreband.com/band/94The three other finalist were from the three city in-person auditions. EDIT 7-13 for the All-Star Game band's promotion related opinion: After hearing three of the four bands tonight during the All Star Game, it's hard to pick one, for the producers made them all sound the same, instruments to vocals, using obvious pitch control machine "sounds" on all the vocals, and the same instrument sounds, band to band. Over polishing. Any band would sound the same with that approach. I thought it was going to showcase THOSE bands for their own sound and style of singing and playing those free credit score songs, to inject their band's sound and singing appeal. Could still be using studio musicians and actors. It took away the character of all the bands, with not much Independent about them going on now. With only a slight edge still, as it's really hard to tell now: "The Victorious Secrets". Producers for future ads: Let those bands be themselves! People like REAL. You already had actors and studio musicians. Let Substudio produce them! NO pitch control, and amps be the amps and bands be THAT band! Thanks Nigel, John and Tom.
I think that band has a decent chance in the finals. Depends what the company is really looking for though.
Maybe the bands that the judges met and heard in the three cities have an edge because of that. ???
August will tell.

That was from a live audition held in NYC for many bands. The band did not make the video. The sound is from the company's on stage and broadcast gear, not the band's. (As for all the three city band auditions). The online bands had to make their own videos. The 4 times company name chorus hook was done by all the bands who selected that song, "Credit Cards". There were five songs to choose from written by the FCS dot com company writers. They're ok, but nothing personality wise when playing. No harmony. Singer goes off key. Plain playing as on the demo,,,no originality. My money is on The Victorious Secrets over them, easy. Not sure about the other city audition bands though. Will have to view them again. May be even stronger. I sure wish Roon and Iggy were to be seen and heard having fun with the props that did add originality into the video and song. To have folks vote on us or not. They carried the band in great fashion. My stupid fault of course, not to have us in the hunt. Was just so excited to get it up and started, for time was running out on time to vote. Editing out that intro logo is a very easy thing to do. (minutes). Victorious Secrets crushes Monsters! I Love Monsters brought very little, I thought. Can't picture any of the members besides the singer. (Besides, that upright piano in the V.S. band! GOOD player too. Gotta go with them just for that! That's Ok Bob, I'm used to Jim's ribbing. Ha-ha James! Praising one band and giving correct filming and sound info gets turned into sour grapes! It's just part of his humor we've come to accept. That was minor! And, yes, I think it is important to continue the interest in the competing bands, and to have opinions of any of them, based on facts, as I tried to let Jim know. Not often indie bands get a chance at getting a valid, well known TV campaign spot. Fans will vote on those four finalists bands starting July 13th, with the official announcement and promotion of those bands to the TV audience of the Major League Baseball All-Star game. The grand prize winner and the three runner-ups get announced in August. I'll get that date and edit it in. Now where's my ripe grapes!,,,,, Cindy!!!! Feed me! SLAP! Not like that!

John has fair reason to be disappointed. His video was certainly among the best submitted (I thought there was one weak aspect, but otherwise it was good enough to have a shot to move forward). A technicality (that I wasn't aware of myself) kept them out, which was too bad. I know they were very open to considering an older band since their target audience is 25+ rather than 25-30 or 25 and under.
In my pre-stroke days I would have aggressively jumped in to try and resolve getting them at least a chance, but I'm just not able to currently. I hope in another 6 months or so I'll be much closer to my old self. I would have done it not just for John, but also for Exprerian who I think would benefit from having a band with the history and fortitude of 2LT. No matter what happens, I am glad I got them back together with some excitement. Life is too short not to make music with your friends every chance you can get. Music is a healthy form of mental excercise and the social/emotional benefits of being together with friends can't be underestimated.
You guys just proved you can still do it. Stop packing that stuff up.

Brian Thank You Brian for all that! Your support and encouragement mean everything to me, and I know the guys really appreciated what you did in the first place, to have us play together again. We sure had fun that Sunday! The guys stayed a long while after we wrapped up, just hanging out and talking. Some very serous issues going on with Roon and Iggy, as you know. And with what Marnie is in the process of doing. Do NOT feel bad for not able to do even more for us, for three reasons:. 1. You already DID a LOT to begin with, and in the most meaningful way for the guys and me personally, and for this band in general to have it still be alive when we thought otherwise. 2. No telling what we would have been able to do if reaching any next contest level. We were just going to take it as it comes and see how to deal with whatever was asked of us. So, serious circumstances being what they are for a few of the guys, your added efforts you spoke about wanting to do but couldn't, might have resulted in a decision problem anyway. 3. The rules are the rules. We are fine with the exclusion based on something valid, and wouldn't want to be brought in the back door. My fault, and it should be that as the rules state. I am just disappointed in myself for not fully reading the rules and just thinking the under one minute rule was one we needed to be concerned with, along with having to be an independent band, as we are. Nobody would like a band that got inside help anyway. It just wouldn't sit right with us either. I bet there were many bands like us who got excluded for the same reason. (The known logo rule). YOU just take it easy and be very glad that YOU were THE reason Roon, Iggy, Marnie, Doc and I got together again and had a rebirth, personally and band wise. WE are now trying to schedule recording time for all our songs done live up here in that same room as the video. Because of your mentioning us before, and encouraging us to have FUN. WE sure did, and will again, despite the guy's issues. Thank you! You did more than anyone could for us. Just look at Roon, Iggy and Marnie in that video! (Who all had been going though pure hell for months before). THEY say it all in that video as to what you already did. Thank you, and get WELL! Relax...... Johnny

U effin know it, Johnnie! The view is clear from your vantage point, I'm sure... We are all so secure in our own views, eh? More than once you've told me John's a space cadet, but in your words: he's our space cadet. At least one of us has progressed!

James also actually has my back on many things he sees I may be heading down the wrong path. (My invention for one). He's just a tough one to read in his posts though. We need to hear his voice and see his smile. Thanks again Bob,,,good of you! Johnny

And hey!!!! I'm not on some other planet! Where I am,,,,there's no need for planets! LOL!!!! Ya all come by now, hear!? I actually think this Tinnitus ringing has made me normal! I hear other sufferers going nuts from it. I could only go the other way,,,,So???? Here I sit, upon this usual chair, with my usual hair, thinking only of keeping it there! How's that not normal!?

BY the way, The Victorious Secrets have over 7000 hits on youtube.
Who's got the ear? Still,,,,,,in spite of!?
Ha! They also have "soul"! (which I certainly have and can pick up on with anyone else,,,an inside thing with Jim). I know the difference of missing a note aimed for, to someone who has soul and sings from their heart who may be off the path of pure at times if not a lot of the times,,,but sounds right.
The Victorious Secrets will be tough to beat. And that was "their" own home made video! For the others?,,,,With the help of pros and longer time allowed by over a minute, the others still don't come close, in my opinion.

Ha! Just not perfect! And not what they were,,,unless I focus to block out what's always ringing.
Sub and many others would be THE EAR well over me.
I have the "Ear Of Was". (based on Sub's "Wall of Was") in his home studio of top pop albums/artists he played on.

Yeah!!! I recall Roon always saying that, and before that, Ronny. It would sound good in open chords, then not in others. Intonation I guess? With not having an equal temperament for tuning, as in pianos, that one string may just stick out more then others, which could also be out, depending on position of chords. ??? Would have to ask Peter Brown, a guitar tech.

Why is the B string always out? Because it's not as distracting as when a G-string is out!

For the All-Star Game band's promotion related opinion:

Producers for future ads: Let those bands be themselves! People like REAL. You already had actors and studio musicians. Let Substudio produce them! NO pitch control, and amps be the amps and bands be THAT band!

I know! My rant is just a musicians one. They put out the call for a new "Indie" band, but could have just changed actors and use the same studio musicians, as that is what they made the bands sound like. (Of course, its for the company to sell their service)! BUT man,,,faked them all up big time. No personal style now. Interchangeable parts. They took away my fav band's original sound, (and personal, natural style that got them the votes in the first place), including the lead singer's voice! Made him a male Britney! Ack!!! And your fav band?,,,,Wow!,,,I'd rather hear his natural singing than his even more Britney/Cher sound treatments they did for him. (He must have needed more help)! LOL! "Crank that machine up a few notches Bob, we've got a drifter"! Give me his drift! It was just one note anyhow! At least he had his own sound and style. Now he's Britney's twin brother. But I do understand time in the studio being a cost factor, as is mainly why pro projects go right to the devices of the times. A few takes instead of many. Then copy and paste the good sections or even words from each take. Mike did that with us and me here and there. But never pitch control to make us sound Britney. Just want that "soul" you spoke of before. They polished it right off them all. But any of them will sell the product. Bottom line, of course.
