Anyone use their service before? They contacted me with a special offer to make a full CD available for upload to radio world wide. I'm tempted to try it, what do you guys think about this? I value your opinion.

I am not familiar with them. What exactly are they offering? Do you already have the songs on a CD?

Yes I have the songs on CD. They make it available on their site so radio stations can upload one song at a time or the whole CD. It will be left available for uploading for one year.

Do they actually promote the thing, or just host it?

Don't really know. I think radio stations just go looking for new material and they make it available for them to download.

What relationships do they have with radio stations? Which radio stations do they have relationships with? How many? What are they charging you? Did you know you can most likely find a huge list of independent/college radio stations globally for FREE? That list will include contact information for each station.

I have never heard of this company. That means nothing though. Just make sure that what they offer is worth your money. If radio stations are not trafficking their site or are rarely trafficking their site, then you're basically giving the site free money for a service that won't benefit you.

Weigh all the pro's and con's before you jump on their boat.

I took a look at their site. If you think you have market worthy songs, then I would say they look pretty legit. If you need to (I recommend it), contact some of their clients and find out what their opinion of the service they received is. Looks cool though.

<quote>

Do you have some references for the results you have produced?
Yes - many. You are welcome to contact several of our artist/clients for their feedback about our service. Contact references will be provided upon request. You can also read our artist testimonials.

Most radio stations do not go looking for songs. They are either programmed by their head office (Clear Channel) or they are besieged with stuff that is sent to them that they have to sift through.

Radio doesn't look for any songs.They have continuous things submitted to them by every solo artist, every label, every manager, imaginable. They play songs from artists who are touring and in the public eye. Those artists are promoted by advertising purchased by their companies, or the aforementioned managers, labels. If you are not one of those artists currently performing in regional areas, don't look for anything to ever be played outside of small niche markets, some college stations (who really just play college acts) or independent podcasting or web based stations.

Music is always a one on one experience with performers and audiences. That never changes.

OK; I did a promo w/ radiodirectx ~ Different deal than yours ~ my deal was to let them shop the project thru their stations (worldwide) The prob was that the stations were non-comm. and college radio> AND on my deal I had to send promo copies to the stations. > So it was a little costly and I turned down some requests because of no sales <> I got airplay all over the planet /good reviews from several <Australia, Eu> & acouple Canada, several in the states<mostly col.> But no sales(bummer) At your own risk / I am the Jake Blake Project on the AMI internet jukebox & on myspacemusic > cdbaby > good luck

I would have to agree with Marc here. From what I've learned at Musicians Institute's Music Business Program, Radio doesn't search for music. The Radio Programmers get stacks of cds on their desk. Its a lot of politics in radio. If you want to get your music on radio (Terrestrial and/or Online) go with College radio. Much more likely for them to spin your tracks. Just my 2 cents.
Take it easy

Mike
