Awesome Tom, I was just listening to it in the MP3 forum, and you got it signed even before I formed an opinion about it.
Well deserved, congrats to ya!

thanks Midnite/Magne
and best of luck to you both in your songs and submisions.........it pays to persevere thats for sure....Mike is a busy guy and sometimes trying to get his focus on a project is like trying to nail jello to the wall....it took him 13 months to get the music done for the lyrics after I first sent em........but after a steady stream of nudges, and bomb threats he finally came through...so if you are considering co-writing with him use the nickname I now have for him-LIGHTNIN' -LOL.... but seriously you are both very good and I hope you keep at it despite whatever delays and setbacks your song projects may incur...if you really believe in a song then make it happen despite the odds.......thanks again for the listen and congrats.....

Tom, Congrats on this. I'll see you Thursday and will look at the contract before we meet. I expect it to be a standard license library contract, also I've seen that Idigi has gotten some good comments on the license library review site. Nice to get one this soon out of the gate. Yes, I'm a slow internet cowriter, mostly because there ain't no money in it, LOL. I don't cowrite songs to get paid for demoing them, so I never charge for my services on demos with cowrites. And, it takes ten to twelve hours for me to write music for, and demo a song like "Alright With You." So I often bump cowriting for things like making money or bouncing my grandbaby on my knee. This sure worked well, though. Now I just wrote a song with Lee Arten that's only taken months, waiting to see if he likes it, and I've got a deadline to finish one this week for Tom Shea and Justice. Then comes another song with Sam Wilson, and back to you. For live cowriting, I write with Razzy Bailey and Joanne Cash, plus I've done a little with Bill Robinson that we may finish one day. I'm thinking in the future, I might cruise the lyric boards and PM folks on any that catch my eye. That ought to keep me going for the next ten years Again, congrats and thanks for the opportunity to work with your fine lyrics. Mike
You've got to know your limitations. I don't know what your limitations are. I found out what mine were when I was twelve. I found out that there weren't too many limitations, if I did it my way. -Johnny Cash It's only music. -niteshift Mike Dunbar Music

If it were my contract, I'd photocopy it and have it silkscreened on a T-shirt.

you can believe Mike and I will work this song every way it can be worked...the only folks in Nashville who wont hear this thing are A&R folks with machine gun nests guarding the door.......and even they better have a windowless office cause well all is fair in the music business-lol......am looking forward to your great talents on the demo of Shenandoah River as well....your worktape vocals and guitar work were mighty fine indeed.....

Man this post is getting Gushy!
So I thought I should go and give this thing a listen and test drive. I can hear where this song can fit into a movie or made for TV movie. However I hear something from the 50's or 60's. Not bad just from an earlier era. It does have good pontential.

well we never know just what will grab em so thats encouraging -that we can in fact be successful when we keep trying.....sure I am happy but also duly humbled by our own Little Miss Wooden Shoes-DonnaMarilyn of Holland who has had 5 count em five songs picked up by this agency so far....you dont have to be in Nashville-or even North America to be successful with these music licensing libraries......obviously......best of luck to you in all your songs and submissions......

Tom How many times have you heard a song from the 50's, 60's or whenever in a new movie? Alla time. When I listened to this one that was my thought. I think this would fit right in with the right movie scene. I hope to hear it someday Tom. I'll recognize Mike's voice right away.

Way to go Tom!!!
I enjoyed reading about the birth of your "baby!" We ought to be able to share our glee with our friends considering how many years we spend "carring these little ones to term!" Hopefully, the world will love them as much as we do and they will grow up to be responsible "children," that support their parents in high style in our old age!
Again, congrats!!!
