networking/showcase opportunity and you're invited

Where: The Proud Lion, 124 Fletcher Ave Tampa

(S/W Corner of Fletcher and Florida)
1:30pm Meet and greet...Get there early and get a good

table and you will have the opportunity to meet some

of Tampa Bay�s best Songwriters and performers.

The signup sheet will also be circulating at this time.

2:15 pm Coordinators Presentation...Al Alvarez and

Jerry Jakala will brief you on what�s going on with

the chapter and future plans for workshops etc.

3: pm Showcase... Come ready to perform two or three original or

Cover songs. This is a great opportunity to show your stuff.

Important Note:
We do ask that everyone who takes the stage is tuned,

well practiced and respectful.

Please keep in mind that the Proud Lion is a fine eating

establishment with reasonable dishes and also offers a

full service bar. Everyone is responsible for their own

tabs and we do ask that you drink responsibly.

I am going to have to back out. Going through a busy time musically and have to attend a rehearsal. Hard to find a time when a seven piece band can all make it.

JPFers,
Jerry and I got on the phones yesterday and called members who we havnt seen in awhile and we got a pretty positive response. Please help by talking this showcase up to fellow musicians, songwriter, family members, friends...you get the picture. This may be a seasonal showcase, Spring-Summer-Fall and Winter so please make it if you can.
Oh, and did I mention that we'll have CAKE!

I just got a call to be in for a 2nd sleep study on sunday evening so I'll probably only be able to stay for a short while.
Today I have a couple more tests, and I am SOOO tired of Dr. stuff...

One more day. Alot of folks have been asking for this to happen, unfortunately many people have slacked off on responding to this board so it's hard to gage how many we'll have. Hmmmm....
Please forward the e-mail that we sent out a couple of weeks ago to everyone on your musical e-mail lists and invite them to join us, even if you can't make it .This is a chapter function so I'm asking for chapter participation.

Wolf & Mac,a blues duo with Wolf on guitar and Mac on harmonica.
Gaitor a newbie that did an awesome job and played a firefall song with Jim Mason.
Q,Phillip who helped Q as a video assistant and did a great job performing.
Tom Hill another good performing newbie.
Al Alvarez played his internet radio hit Summer In Tampa plus a few other songs I don't remember the names of.
Carl Wade which was a real treat as we don't get to hear Carl very often.Carl Played a song about a guitar that was hanging in a pawn shop that was just awesome.What a great story song.
Ron Johnson a movie maker that is looking for songs and extras for his up coming movie.
Credits only no money involved.
Al will have his contact information.
Bobbi Jansen has a new book coming out sometime this spring.
21 ways to make it in the music business.
A lady fiddle player that I didn't catch the name of.
I played a new original song,You Cast Your Spell On Me.
Of course Becky and Mary Ann were there supporting every one.
There was a birthday cake celebrating Jim & Al's birthday's.
Al can fill in the rest of the blanks or add to what my memory is failing to tell me.

Actually that was a pretty good recap of the day. We also had Tom Hill who is relocating here from Vermont. Good songwriter/performer, look for him out and about.
Paula was the fiddle player.
Q performed as well as Phillip.
Overall just a fun filled day of good folks and good talented songwriter/musicians.

After some discussion with attending members at the showcase,about future showcases,we decided that quarterly showcases would probably work out the best.
Al is busy with A&R productions these days and I am just starting to perform after a three month lay off.
I have a lot of rust to get rid of.
