The goal of our "Song Challenges" is to write songs/lyrics on demand within set parameters. We don't critique each other's songs in this thread (but you can say you like someone's song if you want to.) Please post your original works. If you have already written a song/lyric that fits within the parameters, please feel free to post it. The parameters for this one are: The recipe must be about food or beverages and you must include the ingredients, exact measurements, and how to cook or bake it. Someone should be able to actually follow the lyrics and actually create the item. The song must have a rhyme scheme and follow a regular rhythmic pattern. You can include other things in the songs like comments, feelings, events etc. but somewhere in the song must be a recipe that can be followed. The recipe can take place within the context of the storyline. Good luck to you. PS: If you don't know of any recipes, check out the cooking forum.

Hi Jean, Just being silly in the name of fun!
Too Good Iced Irish Creme Mocha
(c) 2010 Geneva Keith
Verse 1 Thought I'd put a little life in the Sunday picnic, So I'd brew cups of fun in the coffee pot, Disguise those spirits with chocolate drink mix, Too Good Iced Irish Creme Mocha is what it's called..
Filled that 100 cup West Bend urn with fresh ground, Added water three quarters from the top, Pour in 2 quarts each of Kalua and Bailey's now, Mix the chocolate in later so the maker don't clog..
Verse 2 I prepared a hundred ounces of Nestles drink mix, With just enough hot water to liquify, Blended it altogether with ice at the picnic, Set out styrofoam cups and whipped cream near by..
Well that good strong brew could end an athiest doubt, When the choir cast devils with a powerful song, A frog leaped out of the preacher's wife's mouth, As that preacher man prayed, danced, and carried on..
Chorus When that Too Good Iced Irish Creme Mocha, Made it's da'bu at the Sunday Social, The congregation came alive, In the name of God they all got high, They bore witness to the Lord when they praised my Mocha.. There was a big revival at the Sunday Social....
Bridge Well they elected me as official coffee maker, Last time around I was the brownie baker.. Next year I'll bake with prunes and dates, In the name of love cleanse the congregation..
Chorus When that Too Good Iced Irish Creme Mocha, Made it's da'bu at the Sunday Social, The congregation came alive, In the name of God they all got high, They bore witness to the Lord when they praised my Mocha.. There was a big revival at the Sunday Social....

Hi Jean,
It's been a while since I posted. Here's a song that I've been working on since before Christmas, when I decided I wanted to film an instructional video on how to make this tradition bread. The song just came. I'm still editing. I only wrote it all down this past weekend.
The Challah Song
The way to make a challah, my method you’ll be taught, With water, yeast, and honey, eggs and butter, flour, salt. I’ll show you how I mix it up, and when to let it rest, To twist in a pretty braid, some say that mine’s the best.
Cause I sing it songs. Knead a little love in, all along. And here’s the test, try all the rest, then say which is best.
A cup of lukewarm water, two tablespoons of yeast, Stir, then proof it, honey add a quarter cup at least, A half a stick of butter, melted, eggs I use just four, Two pounds of flour, salt is last, a tablespoon, no more.
Then I mix it all, til it pulls away and it forms a ball. Covered, let it rest, warm bowl for a nest, til doubled is best.
I punch it down, then pinch, in four, I knead them round, now here’s the chore, Eighteen no less, roll strands of four, then cover, rest ten minutes more.
With time on my hands, I butter a pan, Sprinkle it please, with sesame seeds,
Braiding from the middle, it’s laid out I X I, It’s over under to the end, then do the other side. With water on my fingers, I marry up the ends, Then tuck them down and under, on this pinching it depends.
Gently place it on the pan, cover, rest til doubled and If I please, the oven needs, three hundred degrees.
When the loaf has risen, I brush it with an egg, Then sprinkle it with poppy seeds, the oven calls, it begs. I bake til it’s golden brown, I check it when the smell Of heaven that has come to earth, is done, it’s how I tell.
It will make you drool, if you have to wait for it to cool. So don’t be shy, give it a try, then you’ll know why.
This challah’s the best, but first say God bless, It’s manna I guess, go try all the rest, My challah’s the best.

Thanks for posting Calvin. Those ingredients sound simple enough. How many cups of water and what size dog?
