Hi There,
This post is on behalf of the Love Music Hate Racism Movement in England, which I'm a member of. We'd like to compile a CD, or CD's, of original, non sampled tracks to sell at our shops, festivals etc to raise funds. Any songs used would have to be free of swear words and promoting peace and harmony between different races, ethnic groups, religions etc. We couldn't accept any negative songs. Anyone contributing would be freely giving the song to us, and not expecting any fees, or royalties from the songs. I know this is a big ask, but I'm testing the water to see if there are enough positive artists on here who'd like to help a worthwhile cause ? There is also the chance to set up similar organisations worldwide. If anyone's interested please PM me for more details.
Regards,
Geordie

I'd be interested but I wouldn't be giving up my copyright and I'd expect the mechanicals ... so I'd need the CD info to send to APRA if you folk accepted my song...

I would love to contribute but am afraid I am not PC enough and far too down to earth for you guys. I love negative songs. Not keen on Politically Correctness either. I do hate racism though.

Hi Jim, I both write & love a lot of negative songs myself, I've not exactly swallowed the PC rulebook either. But I do believe in promoting equality for all regardless of race, colour, religion or ethnicity. I also believe in showing the true face of the Nazis and fascists within our political system to everyone so that the more gullible can see both sides of the picture.
Regards,
Geordie

Humm, I probably have a song you can use. Some questions.
Will you be re-recording the song for your release? I only have a demo that cannot be released as is.
I can send the song most likely on CD by mail. If you were to want to use it I can issue a license for a named number of copies, say 500 or 1000. If your project is sucessful you could purchase a license for more copies after that.

Hi Ray, We haven't finalised anything on this yet, we're just testing the water to see what interest there is in doing this. Any decisions will be made by the comittee. You could email me an mp3 of your rough demo for consideration, obviously, we wouldn't use that, but we need to have an idea of if we think the song fits ?

Geordie

I'm a lyricist, and have suitable lyrics, but no finished songs which might be of use posted yet on any of my sites. Still, if you have access to a decent and intuitive melodist/vocalist, amazing things could happen. All I would require for my efforts would be recognition as the lyricist, not monetary compensation.

See The Light
There are so many facets to this incredible wonderful place So many people all trying to make their mark in their own way Lift up your voice for those still yearning to be free They deserve opportunity
Rise Lift up your voices Rise Lift up your brothers and your sisters Rise Above it all in love Rise Till you finally see the light
We’ve come a long way traveling a myriad winding trail Not without difficulty but we shall not fail Looking back you see the wreckage of our mistakes Looking forward no matter what it takes
Rise Lift up your voices Rise Lift up your brothers and your sisters Rise Above it all in love Rise Till you finally see the light
Everyone no matter who or where you come from Has a right to happiness Has a right to share in this
Rise Lift up your voices Rise Lift up your brothers and your sisters Rise Above it all in love Rise Till you finally see the light
Today my world is in harmony Today the dream is finally realized Everything’s gonna be alright--in my world I finally see the light

Hi guys i am just a lyricist If anyone thinks this is good enough and can make music for it I would be willing to donate Turtle
Worried Heart
Why do we worry? About all those little things People are starving In places Like Africa
Chorus I want to be carefree Like so many other kids But my mind only sees The pictures of atrocity I like to party too you know And have a good time But my heart is breaking To all the world crimes
We can make a change It starts within you
There are many mountains We as people Have to climb Little love and less hate rid Make the world Right again
Chorus I want to be carefree Like so many other kids But my mind only sees the Pictures of atrocity I like to party too you know And have a good time But my heart is breaking To all the world crimes
We can make a change It starts within you
Life is always waiting For our conscience to kick in More thought more forgiving Will make us, whole again
We can make a change It starts within you We can make a change Do you feel it too?

Hey Turt...
You might want to post this up to one of the Lyric Forums on the boards for comment.
