Okay, so it's a local spot. A VERY local spot (just in the far north suburbs of Chicago). And it's a spot for a friend's restaurant. But, it's still exposure and he's still paying me.
That's a first for me.
Okay, so I tried telling him that I didn't want to take his money, as he needs every penny that he has, opening a new restaurant. But he is insisting. So... I'm getting paid. Cool. Maybe I'll take that money and record another song with it. Why not?
And, FYI, if you're curious: It's an instrumental that I've included on my new album that he just thought sounded "right" for the spot. A strange, strange instrumental. But people seem to like it.

Congratulations! I've gotten boots, free meals, thanks, and had my carpets cleaned for doing radio spots. Money is great!!! Make sure you get a copy of the spot itself to put in your demo. Strange is good.
You've got to know your limitations. I don't know what your limitations are. I found out what mine were when I was twelve. I found out that there weren't too many limitations, if I did it my way. -Johnny Cash It's only music. -niteshift Mike Dunbar Music

"Whether your next song is #1 on Billboard, or a critical failure by all measurable standards, go look in the mirror. You are the exact same person you were the day before your received the news. Never forget that." -Brian Austin Whitney
