Hello JPF! Had a couple NSAI Evaluations, did some "tweakin'", streamlining, and rerecorded with my changes! I think It'll be more radio friendly now!? Did I say radio? Probably NOT,...but it's a "hoot" to play out! Let me know if it works. Droptine JOHN DEERE GIGOLOcopyright 2009 Mark A Schultz LATEST VERSION POSTED 1/23 Listen Hi-FiListen Lo-Fi Verse 1 I had a brunch with Kim at a quarter 'til 10, then I had to mend some fence. Rendezvous with Sue at half past 2, then hauled that big tractor in. CHORUS I gotta date tonight, no rest in sight, for this Plowboy's Rodeo. I'll work my fingers to the bone, I'm a John Deere Gigolo. Do Do's (3rd and 4th repeat only) Verse 2 I had'ta sort them cows, put the hay in the mow, fix a couple teeth on the rake. I ran a mile o' wire, like a runaway fire. I did not want to be late. CHORUS Verse 3 5 o'clock was Paula, for some Happy Hour, before I did my evening chores. Oh my my, Miss Molly smiles when she comes callin'. I never close my doors. CHORUS BRIDGE One night, Kim and Sue, Paula, Molly too ended up at Bernie's Bar. It sounds ALOT better with a buddy of mine rippin' Stray Cats lead along with me, but he wasn't available for my "worktape"! So everyone gets it Raw. Glad you liked it!

Hi Drop,
You are on a roll! Cool guitar/vocal that work together very well. I like the "do do's"! Good feel to this one. Yeah, you have to watch those JD cowboys every minute or they'll mow down your heart!

Hey Ricki!
Thanks for the listen! I've had the idea for a long time,...We had a 19 year old carpenter on our crew, John Deere all the way, come Monday morning would have stories about His weekend conquests. Being middle aged, I would sit there with my jaw dropped and eyes wide open!?! I said, some day I'd write His song. He asked if He could be in the "video",...go figure. Consequently,...I wrote this song. Probably NOT gunna get "cut",...Oh Well!?!
Thanks again, Droptine

Howdy Droptine, Gus here. Great handle. and avatar by the way. been looking at this title, wondering to myself, how far a stretch, you were reaching for. But now that I've read & listened I must say that it came out much better than I envisioned, really good in fact. lyrics= funny & interesting, Nice vocals, clean guitar, with a cool beat to it. very nice for my first listen to your stuff.........I'll be back..........Gus

Thanks Gus!
My contribution to the "John Deere" craze! I should have wrote it 5 years ago, before the "Big Green Tractor" thing! Although as I stated before, probably NOT a radio hit, but I'd go for an album "cut" from some artist who is brave,...or wants to have FUN!?!
Thanks again, Droptine

Mark, an up and coming band could have a lot of fun with this one.

Droptine, This is really good! It does have some problem with the tense of it though. V1 & V2 seem to be in past tense, Chorus is in present tense V3 is in present tense, V4 seems to be in future tense (not really sure here) and then the Bridge is back in past tense. Makes it a little confusing. You should be able to fix that easy enough though. Love the idea and the melody you have with it. A band would have a blast with this one. "John Deere Gigolo" great hook. It stays with you. Just my 2 cents worth. (not even sure my opinion is worth that much ...lol.) I enjoyed it.

Hey Guys!
Thanks for the listen! Put the "singer" at 3:30 in the afternoon and see if it makes better sense!? The singer is a veeery buuusy boooy! Maybe on a testosterone drip or something!!! Thus,... John Deere Gigolo!

Paula, Molly, too
Phrase above does not sing well. Overall, yep, it has potential. Good job on guitar, vocal, just tighten up the lyric and make it good as you can, it's a keeper.

Hey Duke!
Don't say that to a certain Pittsburg Steeler Linebacker!?! There are alot of "L's" in there. It'll go better as I get more used to singing it too! That was a one-time-take,...needs a little polish. I'll work on that,....
Thanks for the listen, Droptine

Hey Glynda,
Thanks for listening! It's pretty fun to sing it "out",...some of the looks you get when the ladies figure out what you're singing about!?! They start to count, 1, 2, 3, 4 in one day? It's pretty funny!

Great voice. I'm jealous. Fun song... and an interesting hook. I think the concept definitely has feasibility. One comment on the chorus melody - I really want the last line to go somewhere different than on the second to the last. Maybe a scaled back version of how you end the song? Anyway, nice job. Good luck with it.

Thanks Rob!
It would take an "Artist" that was pretty self confident to pull it off, cuz He'd be in for alot of Flack!?! Everyone says you're suppose to write to make the singer look good,...well this song makes him look like a "womanizer"! However,...in Jake Owens new hit, "8 second Ride", the writer makes both of them look pretty sleazy! Go figure!?!
Thanks for the listen, Droptine

I think I'm gunna do a full blown "demo" to see if It has a chance in "Nash Town"!? I think an artist that's a little "edgy", could pull it off, while raising a few eyebrows!?!
Thanks for the listen! Droptine

This was a fun listen....It is the kind of song that works either raw or with a full production. I would love to hear the full band version.

What a rockin' little tune -- this could work out very well. Good singing.
Now you have "Rendezvous with Sue", a cool inner rhyme with the girl's name. Might want to do that with all the names (maybe not all perfect rhymes, though).
Cool singing at the end!!

Mark....I am loving this...I think Toby Keith could pull this off quite soundly and no one would bat an eye at the content.
Very nice vocals and guitar.....I definitely hear this as commercial....probably an album cut, but you never know....but, I would move forward with it for sure. It is just enough different to make people sit up and take notice.
I always love your stuff...where are you from?
Love those "Do's"

Thanks Guys for the Listen!
Sorry Kim, I wasn't trying to single anyone out,...just goin' for the rhymes!?! If you feel like dancin' to it now, you should here it with the Stray Kats guitar lead behind it. It's pretty COOL!
Kevin, I'm a fan of "off rhymes", sometimes I push the legal limit of where they should go! Ha! Ha!
Janice, I never thought about Toby. I was thinking some of the younger, up and comin'rowdy boys, like Jake Owens, Jason Aldean,... They wouldn't have to stretch the imagination!?!
Thanks again, Droptine
