Just keep in mind they have no connection to the movie studio of a similar name. Do some google searches and read the comments, if you do so, you'll have your answer pretty quickly.

Paramount is a tough one to talk about. They are a company that associates themselves with the film company, but there is no connection. I don't know how they get away with it.
For the most part in the industry in Nashville their demos are sub par and they tend to overpromise. But blind squirrels find acorns all the time. The chances are not very good, but it does happen.
About this and any contest, you have to keep it all in context for what they are. Hit songs never go through contests. The avenues are different for professionally written songs than those of amateurs, which most contests are.
They generally offer some kind of plaque or commendation, sometimes money, or sometimes being on a "compilation" disc. Very few of these go much farther than the contest.
They are all judged against the competition, which in most cases are not all that good. It tends to be the best of the mediocre. Professionals or competant writers, rarely submit to contests.
So if you want some self satisfaction, possibly making contacts in various areas by common experiences, "Hey I did that too" kind of thing, you might want to participate.
Personally, when it comes to contests of any kind, I wish people would save their money, do better demos, make trips and meet more people.
But that is just me.
