Hi everybody.... Hope your holidays were joyous and peaceful...
We're happy to announce the first show in a new series that features area artist/writers beginning this Tuesday, Jan 5th, from 7-10 pm at Cork & Olive, at the northeast corner of Linebaugh and N Dale Mabry,in Tampa. On the first and third Tuesdays of each month, we will invite two area writers to an interview/performance setting that will be videoed by our friend Gary Horrell and then presented on FolkLure.tv. Artists can sell product and gain some potentially rewarding exposure. Our first show features Leigh Humes, accompanied by her husband Steve, and our chapter co-coordinator Al Alvarez. Please let me if you're interested in appearing on future dates. With warm regards for a successful 2010!

Just put new strings on the Yari/Alvarez and am looking forward to playing. I hope some folks will brave the cool weeather and join us. Our first night at The Cork & Olive drew a small, but mighty crowd, and a good time was had by all, especially me... My heartfelt thanks to Al Alvarez, Leigh and Steve Humes, and everyone else, with a special nod of appreciation to our hosts, Hendrik and Laurette, a very lovely couple who truly "get it" with regards to bringing live music back to their venue. They've got a great selection of beer and wine, with some tasty snack dishes that hit the spot.... C'mon out and join us for our second "Songwriter Spotlight Series" on Tuesday, Jan 19th, with our special guests, Wendy Barmore and Jules Dobrowolski... Hope to see you there.... You're gonna have a good time...!

Tuesday night is scout night for me - I take my son to scouts. I could get someone to take him for me if I were to play, but I can't get someone else to take him every other Tuesday. Hypocritical a little bit of me, I know. Just being honest.
