Riveting Riffs Magazine is looking for people on a barter basis to review one or two live gigs per month in these cities; Los Angeles, Chicago and Austin. (Please indicate the genres that interest you). I should also make clear that the concerts involve a combination of indie and signed artists. We are also looking for jazz reviewers only in New York City, because we cannot keep up with the demand. You must have excellent writing skills and a backgrounder as a musician, vocalist or composer (does not need to be current). We provide he tickets, your name on the review and at the bottom of the review we will provide a free 2 - 4 line bio provided you are in the arts or your work is related to the arts, such as a publicist etc. We will also provide links to your websites to a maximum of two. Reply to: jmontague@rivetingriffs.com I want to make sure that you understand that we do not pay for these reviews and that it is strictly on the barter basis outlined above. Check out our website at www.rivetingriffs.com

Hi. I am potentially interested, but not in going to Seattle to do it. If you ever decide to review stuff happening in Portland (OR), I'd be interested. That's only 90 miles away from where I live. I would consider the free tickets an okay recompense for my time, the article, and the gas.
And yes, I do write. I do a weekly column for the local paper (in addition to reporting some local news), and I've been doing a blog--"The Writer's Blog" (link below) for a couple of years now.

May I suggest to read about 20-40 of them...you can get the language the critics use and you can learn from others. You can get the feel by what others say and HOW they say it........... __________ Sound Effect
