She’s got a husband on cruise control

The kids near grown she’s a damn good mom
I don’t know how she stays so calm
Feedin’ everybody on a budget for a bird
The check doesn’t come until the third

He’s got skills but he lost his faith
She can’t stand lookin’ at his face
Because everything he could have been
He just threw away

She don’t complain

She hides it in a little corner of her heart
She catches herself before it starts
He’ll go out drinkin’ with the boys
He’s the man o’ the house, says F-that noise
When the ship comes in, we’ll see who the fool is
But there’s just one problem…

There’s no ship
There never is
And if he cared at all about his kids
He’d do the dirtiest job in the world
And learn to like it

She’s on line occupying her mind
Tryin’ to write songs and she’s doin’ fine
Cheerin’ up everybody else

This sorta reminds me of onea those Eagles Songs..with all kindsa Sub-Plots/Twists/& Personal Observation...rolled-into-One.

IF ya got Killer Music...might prolly work.

On Just-The-Lyrics Basis...veers-aside a mite-much. Also feels TOO-Personal..like The Writer KNOWS this Gal in Real-Life..& is an "Inside Observer".

& to me..the "Outside Observer"..it's begining to feel TOO-Complicated to Unravel the Truth..from The Fiction.(Like..since-when did "God's Own Hand" get involved here?)

Needs "Distilling-Down" methinks. Good Luck with it!

This story is completely true, and the wife in this write is dead off in love love love with some JD (whom she is aware, because I've told her so--she can never have, because she's married). Yeah...most of my writes are real. I'm not known for writing fiction. "Note To Self" is half fiction; I get approached by lot lizards all the time. Ew! I write 'em like I see 'em lol.
