Good thoughts Stan <G> You could maybe cut the first C if you had another verse in you. They'll never let me have the C 4 times, but then you prob'ly didn't ask anybody, I bet <G> Wy

Good one Stan! A lot of truth in those words, especially for the younger crowd. When one gets older, something more practical works as well - like a DAW! I know; you can't put your arms around a DAW. It's a winner. Best, John

HiDee WyGuy!
Hey..I actually sneak-in Da Chorus FIVE times...since the (SOLO) I got in mind's an Instrumental..of Da CHORUS again!
(How EVIL is That?) ;-)>
This'n's sorta borderline Old Country/Bluesy, melody-in-mind.
So-Simple, maybe even-I could Remember All The Words?
I Wish!
Hey, Many Thanks for Your Kind Visit, Amigo. Big Guy-Hug, Stan

Stan, this is really good. I hear Cajun country, reminiscent of "Jambalaya." Yes, I think you can keep repeating the chorus as long as people are dancing. And they could dance to this one a lot. Want some music for this?

I think the first verse just needs a tweak to make it more personal than universal "you" (some men are quite happy without a wife.. LOL).
A GOOD COFFEE & A GOOD WIFE Only 2 Things a Man I Needs In My Life (B'sides God-&-A-Job..to Help Him Me Survive) Just Need A GOOD COFFEE & A GOOD WIFE!

HiYa ShayneMeister...How's Ya Been, Amigo? (& How goes The Blurbird these days?
While I DO like your Sugs..I think when Singer's Songin' about "Himself...it turns a few off in the Audience that ougha be sucked-in.
Of course, I'm quite guilty of singin'/writin' "I" Songs...but...truly..I penned this'n' to be as Universal as All Get-Out.
Ah...my Good Wife IS fixin' me a Coffee...b'fore I head off to openin' the Museum that Never has Many Visitors...heh!
As for men bein' happy "without a wife"..Lordy, they must be good at Washing, Ironing, Grocery-Shoppin', Cookin'...& Bill-Paying, too? (I left out "Lovemaking"..but it's still a "biggie" around Our House..heh!) Yep, some are, God-Help-Em.
I'll add I'm not TOO jealous of 'em/& yep, some DO Know Whst They're Missin'...usually after makin' a Bum First-Try at it.
(So onea us'll have to pen one titled "Once-Bitten"..eh? ;-)>
Best Weekend Wishes & a Memorable Big Guy-Hug, Stan

HiDee Brother Barry!
Hey, Great Observation, Amigo!
I often have One Last Cup around 9-10..& bein' perpetually Outta Decaf...it leads to Insomnia...& Wifey goes to bed around 9:30..sharp...(Alas!)...alone/waking her up is "Askin' For It".
Of course, I still DO ask for it...but it's not real-easy to Get It when they're peeved atcha...heh!
I've thought about havin' some Beam instead...but she hates Alcoholics, too... ;-)>
So..I end My Day watchin' Late Nite TV a whole lot...or occasional visitin' here!
Thanks for Your Visitin' Here..& leavin' Your Kind Words behind, Amigo!

I'm one of those Truly Blessed Dudes! When I met LaFemme, it was back in the Twiggy Era...& she was about 98 lbs, soakin'-wet.
&...as she aged..guess WHERE she put on a lotta weight?
Where It COUNTS...heh-heh-heh!
(& Now..if I'm Truly-Blessed, she'll Never Read This Thread!)

Speaking of the Bluebird, I'm headed there tomorrow night to get the infamous "stamp" (rain check for a later performance) since my sister is still trying to schedule a time to come in and perform with me.
Regarding the universal you POV, that's fine...just my opinion. I just prefer using the "I" approach and hope others relate.

Hi Again, Amigo!
IF'n I was pennin' this'n for a Younger Singer, perhaps I woulda.
This feels "safer" sung by an Older Dude..who may or May NOT be a "Hunk". If'n it WAS a Younger Singer's Song (& he wore REAL Tight Jeans) yep, The "I" would Have It!
Many Thanks Again, BroMigo, and Good Bird-Luck to Your & Sis!~ (Had a few Invites to Sing There..but not-allowed to Sing over CD Tracks...& I don't play a single lick!)
Best Wishes & 'Nother Big Guy-Hug, Stan

Yep..I kept this baby here REAL simple..as easy as 1-2..heh..so Audience wouldn't haveta Count TOO-High..heh!!!

Hi Stan,
Am I the first gal to respond to this lovely lyric? Can't be!
I think it will resonate with many people....a lot of sweet lines...
Good one!

G'Mornin' Mz Sunshine, & Thanks for My Day-Brightener!
Glad this'n's resonating with ya...(I WAS wonderin' if it was mostly gonna be Guy-Friendly...but Lord-knows I try to get Both Sides of The Genetic Fence enthused-a-bit..each Lyrical-Try!) ;-)>
I'm Honored that Ya Like It...(& DO have a REAL-Romantic Number I'm workin' with Bro Drac on..as of 2 days ago..Gal-Sung!)
Haven't forgotten our "Knights" Co-...just haven't got back to it..as I continuously put out the Economic Brushfires in Tampa Town. (We got almost 12% unemployment in This Fair City..& I'm getting ever-closer to my Exit Strategy.) ("Ebay..Here I Come"...heh...but the ONE object we posted last week's eating up ALL sorts of Time gettin' sold-off...& we got literally Thousands of "Acquisitions" to find new homes for.)
Thanks Again for Your Kind Visit & Words, My LadyChum! Hope the Theater's treatin' ya right this Fall Season...& all's a-goin' well with Family & Music too!

Good Evenin' Mz Gem!
BroJoe sent me an MP3 of a rough Demo this AM...& the God/Job line's been re-shaped...& it's a Bit Simpler/Nicer now...(In Essence) with its Philosophisin'..Methinks.
I was pretty much commentin' on "Life's Essentials" here...& went for the VERY-Basics.... (&, heh, I'll be the first to admit..the Coffee ain't really all THAT-Important..heh!) But..don't judge it TOO-Seriously...after all, It's Guy-Sung..eh?) ;-)>
Many Thanks for Your Kind Visite, M'LadyChum! I admit to a wee-bitta Redneckiness...Time-to-Time!

Hi Stan,
This is a great song! It has a lot of good vibes to the emotions. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to check it out sooner. I've been a bit out of pocket the past few. Anyway, I can't wait to hear the demo on it. I hope you are well and keep on putting 'em out...I love the stuff you post! Everything you do is good. Not to mention, you're so prolific it's ridiculous lol. I wish I could be like that.
Best wishes,
Wes

G'Mornin' Bro Gus, & Thankee Amigo!
Yeah..every once in a while I pen somethin' not TOO-Scandalous & Away-We-Goooo!!!
For some odd reason, the Gals out there think I'm demeaning 'em comparin' 'em to a Good Cuppa Coffee...but they don't know How MEANINGFUL that AM Cuppa IS to a Guy with either a Hangover or wuz Workin'-Late Last-Night....heh!
Thanks Again for the Kind Visit & Words...& I look forwards to the TTYL, Amigo!

G'Mornin' Bro Wes, & Thanks Aplenty for all those Kind Words!
I find I can achieve Sanity by constant reflection on Daily Things.
And, BusinessDude that I try to be, It might Someday Pay..to put alla these (Often Obtuse) Reflections..to work..in a Song Lyric.
I'm also Basically-Lazy, so I rely on Good Help from all the planet's Musicos..or I'll HAVE to learn an Instrument. (I'm reminded of an Old Thai Proverb that goes like "It is unwise to play music for the cows"...(Which shows ya what The Thais Know about both Animal Husbandry AND Wise Sayings.) But I've rarely been able to teach my fingers WHERE they should go..both in Love and in Music. (I've mastered the Former..at least!)
I share your anticipation as to The Demo....BroJoe is 90% done with it...should be up at MP3 Feedback Board soon/Hope it goes over witcha well!
I certainly understand the Out Of Pocket feeling...We're holdin' our breath that a few Grandfather Clocks sell here, this Nov-Dec...as about 1/3 of our annual income arrives here those 2 months/It's already-spent..heh!
Yep..LOTS of Inspiration to Pen The-Next-One...you betcha!
Thanks for makin' me feel Good about This One, Amigo, & Best Wishes/Big Guy-Hug, Backatcha! Ol' Stan

Thanks for Workin' With Me on gettin' This Little Piggie to Market, Amigo!!!
I'm anxious to see if the Country-Folks are content to let the God-Job Line sorta evaporate in the Sung Version. (IMO it works out fine.) Bridge Line's still a Mystery where-to-use-it...alas...but Overall, Fine Job, Amigo!
Thanks Aplenty for takin' this Under Your Wing & Givin' It Feathers!
Best Wishes/Major League Guy-Hug, Stan
