Guess this is my first official post, had fun doing this one and thought I'd share it:) A co-write with Craig Wolff. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7827506(Living on the Corner of) Happy and Fat ©Mark D. Preston/Wolff/Wolff Bet I did a billion bicep curls All To impress the pretty girls I picked plenty up when I was lifting weights Found a cutie who could cook Her sugar was all it took Bought her a ring and licked my plate Chorus: Now I'm living on the corner of happy and fat I'm sportin' a keg where there was a six pack 'Cause deep fried heaven is where I'm at Living on the corner of happy and fat Living on the corner of happy and fat My stomach starts to flutter When she gets out the butter And pulls her secret spices off the shelf That little kitchen gets hot It's not a stove or crockpot It's just her in an apron and nothing else Chorus: Now I'm living on the corner of happy and fat I'm sportin' a keg where there was a six pack 'Cause deep fried heaven is where I'm at Living on the corner of happy and fat Living on the corner of happy and fat I used to live on the lean side of the street But then I learned to love a little extra meat... Chorus: Now I'm living on the corner of happy and fat I'm sportin' a keg where there was a six pack 'Cause deep fried heaven is where I'm at Living on the corner of happy and fat Living on the corner of happy and fat

Hey Mark, I'm not really a "country" person and tend not to listen and comment on them, but when they're songs as good as this, sung as well as this, and produced as well as this, it's a different matter!
This is cracking song, don't know much about the whole Nashville pitching songs business to say whether it's a "pitchable" song, but it sounded pretty darn good to me,
Nice uplifting song, good luck with it.

Hey Mark and Craig, This is a RIOT!! I can think of a few country boys whose physiques might qualify them to sing this (I ain't namin' names!!), but I don't reckon' they WOULD , so you might be stuck as far as commercial viability goes... Still, what a great hook -- in fact, I think we should all MOVE there! It just doesn't get any better than this.... My stomach starts to flutter When she gets out the butter Please, just make sure if she's deep-frying anything in only an apron she doesn't turn her back to the stove!! I'm still chuckling here...thanks again for sharing!! Beth

Lucian and Beth, Thanks to both of you for listening, chuckling and whatever else:) Most of all thanks for the very kind remarks. I hoped it would come across to others as much fun as I had working on it. I agree on the commercial aspect, gonna take the right physique and artist to be interested...lol

Mark, I hope you are pitching this one, because it needs to be playing on the airwaves right now, and if it gets into the right hands, it will be. This is good stuff!!! Raido ready as is and one that should be out there. Oh, did I mention I like it!!!

Hi Mark, This is a cute number here! I like it, I can hear it playing on the radio, I heard a song a couple days ago, "Rockin the Beer Gut" and this would fit right in there. It's a cute, real song. Not the typical I'm hot, she's hot, we got together and now we're hot together. That said, frpm what I understand, "they're" looking for upbeat, fun songs now, so why not give it a try. The worst that can happen is "they" say no, but they might not.
Enjoyed the listen.

Mark and Craig,
Nice job. I really enjoyed the listen. Hard to beat a little Southeast Texas Jimmy Buffet.

Mark, Very cute! I wish you much success with it. The lyric is really clever and the music fits like a glove. Nice performance too. Get it out there so you can move on up to the corner of happier and fatter.

Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit! Sounds to me like you boys hit a home run. If you could land a helicopter in his front yard I don't see how George Strait could resist this one.
have fun & good luck, John

Hi Mark,
What a hoot! Cute and clever lyrics, mellow tempo, music fits it nicely, production sounds great. I heard a little Buffet in it too so, what's not to like? You have a good thing going here.

Hi dude
I'm not a country fan in the slightest but man this is good if only for the lyrics which are just great. It all works very well.

Mark,
This is super good! enjoyed it a bunch. Sounds very commercial. It's subtly humorous but yet true in so many cases. Good job!

Good lyrics, good music, sing and playing. Well there it is! Good song, don't see any reason that this couldn't be a hit. I can easily see Alan Jackson or that guy who does Jimmy Buffet type country (?) singing this. Good luck on the pitching.
I thought the mini bridge (I used to live on the lean side...) maybe could have used a little more "change-up" or maybe a complete stop and then go again. The transition in and out of this was smooth, though.
