Awhile ago, a guy who maintained all of our jam tracks had a falling out with the fender forum moderators. Ski placed a blues jam up and I added a harp, two guitar parts and a few lines of lyrics. It devolves into mindless jamming after the 2 minute mark or so. This is cool Kevin! Your harp and guitar sound awesome on this! Wish I could play like that! As for the lyric - funny stuff. Got to take your inspiration where you get it. Scott

The combination of sounds is so good Kevin. It just is so alive and vital. Not pieces stuck together - it is integrated. Very well done.

Hey Kevin, Ironically, I was just telling Scott his song reminded me a bit of the Grateful Dead.....well, this here song makes me want to go do something one generally enjoys at a Dead concert! WAY WAY COOL. I am so jealous -- how much fun must you have jammin' like that?! Gosh, I would be so grateful just to aspire to your "devolving" level!! Anyhoo, THIS is how you turn lemons into lemonade....or maybe, blueberries into the blues?? Thanks! Beth

Michelle (with the 2 ll's): Thanks for stopping by a listening. It is a slow dance!
Scott: Might having been the only time I hit that descending harp lick starting around 0:36!
Calvin: I'm happy you liked it. Thanks for commenting.
Michele (with the 1 l): How is that Aussie gal? I hope your move is going well and thanks for taking the time to listen in.
Brenda: Long time no see -- how did your trip to Nashville go? Start playing the harp, it ain't that hard.
Tom: The hardest part about playing to these jam tracks is "fitting" your parts in so they seem part of the tune (and not just an add-on). I glad you made that positive observation!
Betheroo: Hello, hello. Thanks for listening and commenting and I am glad you got a kick out of. Sometimes the best playing comes when you don't try too hard to do anything fancy!

Ricki: Thanks for stopping by and commenting. It was a fun little romp for me.
Donna: Thanks for listening. I like doing blues songs here and there. Simple, but fun and rewarding to do.

Hey Kevin, Nashville was crazy fun! Met lots of folks and can't wait to get back there.
Playin' the harp ain't that hard? Man, when I was in Nashville I went to Stacie Collins' show, she plays a mean harp!

Hi Kevin, Verry gritty, authentic feel! Your put enough dirt in your vocal to satisfy me. Enjoyed the jam. Mike

Brenda: Thanks for the heads up on Stacie, be interesting to see what happens with her.
Mike: As long as I don't try and over-sing I can be passable (LOL!). Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Holy cow! This is the real deal! I just love this kind of stuff, and you got it down. The harmonica is off the hook!
A good friend of mine's son got married and they hired a band from Seattle to play blues. It was in a nice big barn with pine floors. A couple kegs of red hook and lots of wine. Everyone was dressed to the nines and ready to dance, but the band couldn't get the party off the ground. My friend had invited his old blues buddies, and they asked the band if they could play just a few tunes. From then on, the party was off the hook. You can't fake the blues. You have to have it in your blood. Long story short the beer, wine, and the hired band all disappeared.
Seems like I always show up around here at the right time. This stuff brings back memories!

glynda: Glad it made you feel good! Music should make women feel sexy.
Kevin: Thanks for the kind words. Glad to hear that wedding party turned out all right. This was a great rhythm track from ski, so it made it a little easier.

Hey Kevin,
Yep, if this was going any slower, it would be going backwards. Great feel mate. As a previous poster said, ya can't fake it, ya just have to play it. If ya can't play the blues, you're not a real musician in my opinion.
I like the inclusion of the min 7th in 12 bar, real classy. That's how I was taught to play the blues, by an old Maori guy in New Zealand many years ago. He'd play the grand, and have a jazz guitarist beside him, in one of the flashest hotels in town. Just the 2 of them, but man could they put out a sound.
The harp is real dirty. Love it.
A well played and fitiing tribute to your musical bud.
cheers, niteshift
